Unacceptable Service from Front Desk Manager Ernest Davis at DASKK HOTEL !!!!!
I am beyond appalled by the abhorrent customer service I received from Mr. Ernest Davis, the so-called front desk manager at DASKK HOTEL. My experience was nothing short of a nightmare, starting from a 30-minute hold on the phone, during which he was clearly not busy. Frustrated, I had to hang up and call back immediately, only for him to answer promptly, proving he had deliberately ignored my call. When I confronted him about keeping me waiting for so long—especially knowing I had a booking.com agent on the other line—he displayed complete indifference, showing no remorse for my frustration.
All I needed was an explanation of how to do a "walk-in check-in" as requested by the booking.com agent. Instead, due to his dismissive attitude, I was forced to drive to the property, even though I was quite far away. Upon arrival, I noticed he was the only person at reception. He neither greeted me nor made eye contact, choosing instead to stare at his computer and move his mouse as though I were invisible. Even when he realized I was the same person he had mistreated over the phone, he did not apologize.
At the request of booking.com, I asked Mr. Davis to prepare a detailed receipt or final invoice at check-out that included all fees so I could claim a refund from booking.com. He agreed—rudely—but when I checked out, there was no receipt waiting for me. When I requested that it be emailed, he outright refused, citing my complaint about his behavior as his reason for denying my request. This level of unprofessionalism and vindictiveness is outrageous for someone in a management position.
Adding insult to injury, he placed me in a room with a non-functional sink, despite the hotel being practically empty that night. As the front desk manager, he could have ensured I was placed in a room with working amenities. When I voiced my concerns to the courteous and professional Mr. Robles, he kindly offered to move me, but by that time, I was too exhausted and mentally drained from dealing with Mr. Davis’s incompetence.
It is utterly unacceptable for a newly opened property under the Choice Hotels brand to employ a front desk manager as rude, arrogant, and unprofessional as Mr. Ernest Davis. In stark contrast, staff members like Mr. Robles and Ms. Yessika were exceptional in their hospitality and upheld the high standards one expects from a Choice Hotels property. However, they should not have to apologize or compensate for the inexcusable behavior of their manager.
I will escalate this issue to the highest levels, including Choice Hotels headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, even if it means sending letters monthly. No guest should have to endure such a lack of humanity, hospitality, and professionalism from someone in a...
Read moreI booked a 2 night stay with DASKK through expedia. The first night everything was great. My family and I went to Universal and came back around 5 or 6pm. Something seemed odd because there was no parking and I had to park across the street in some type of construction zone. When I got out of the car I heard extremely loud music playing which seemed weird. Once I got to the hotel I see a ton of people and vendors set up all around the pool area in the center of the hotel with a DJ playing loud music. It appears they had a fashion show going on which wouldn't be so bad but they had the pool closed down which my youngest had been talking about the pool all day. I'm upset that there was no mention of an event when I booked. I call the front desk and talk to the guy behind the counter and ask what was going on and he informed me that it was a fashion show going on until 11pm. I'm obviously pissed and I ask for my money back but the guy was rather rude and said there was no refunds. I'm livid now and ask to talk to the manager and he tells me to come speak to him in the lobby. I go to the lobby and ask for the manager and the manager came out and spoke with me and told me that the owner set the event up and when I asked for my money back he didn't hesitate to authorize a refund with expedia. The hotel itself is clean and I believe a good price for what you get however I think it's extremely unprofessional to have this type of an event at a hotel where people come to relax. The music was so loud you couldn't even watch TV on the 5th floor without it being insanely loud. It's unacceptable to have guest park across the street in a tow away zone. This was my 2nd time staying at DASKK but will be my last. The whole experience was so bad I would have given a 1 star review but I appreciate the managers...
Read moreI stayed here for 4 nights in October – and I was treated unfriendly, not really rude – but no warm and fuzzy feelings here. It was like the staff had no clue what was going on. I needed my keys rekeyed one night at like 11:30 and it took them 15 minutes to finally figure out what they were doing and actually key my keys. Like, I’m not just hanging out with you for no reason.
Breakfast was blah, eggs and sausage kind of cold, apple juice was really watered down. Housekeeping wasn’t friendly, kind of rude. Kind of creepy – security wise. If I was alone, I would be really uncomfortable.
I was really unimpressed with the girl that works 7-3 (Lizbeth), every time I had to deal with her, I swear she would roll her eyes when she saw me coming. I could have stayed at any other Choice Hotel, but I chose yours and I was treated ungratefully. Yeah, cheap rate, but there were 15 other ones for the same price.
The pluses – a few seconds off of I Drive and Universal Blvd in the other direction. Parking wasn’t an issue, the place didn’t seem to be too busy. Close to restaurants and Dunkin Donuts and other attractions on I Drive. Just a few minutes from Universal. I didn’t like policy that if you shorten your stay you have to pay an early departure fee – I think it was a full night stay. The room was clean, nicely furnished, bathroom - had rust stains in the shower, but the floor was clean. The beds were hard, but I have to admit, I did sleep well – could be because we were at the parks most of the time.
I was supposed to check out for day and come back the next day for another 4 nights, but I was so aggravated by that Lizbeth, I booked a different hotel for the rest of our stay. Which was amazing. Kind of wish I stayed there for...
