Da Scene: 3 days in to the conference, between the miles of walking to & from sessions (not to mention sitting in terrible conference chairs), talking up vendors in the expo and the deceivingly uncomfortable/unfamiliar bed & pillows... well I'm a WRECK. Searched and found that dozens of reviewers mentioned "Hong" @ Massage Star Orlando, so I booked via phone and was there in an hour. The spot is on the 2nd level of a little strip mall filled with little small businesses & restaurants, plenty of parking. 10 minute drive from the Orlando World Center Marriott. I check in w/ Brett, am naked and ready to roll in 5 minutes (wait, that sounds better in my head than it does written).

Da Work: Hong strolls in and introduces herself, asks me what I need (I ask for really firm, deep tissue work - I really needed to be broken down. She says, "just tell me as I go, if you need more or less pressure. She starts off with a mild touch and right away I say "harder", she says she's just feeling her way around my trouble areas, and that I'm very tight in many places. When she really got to work, there were a few times I almost asked her to back off, but powered through it - no pain no gain, right? Hong is a gifted deep tissue body worker, almost a healer of sorts. I experienced several styles in my 90 minute session, after the initial "probe", Hong went to Thai then Shiatsu to really break me down, then some Sports, then Thai stretching, some reflexology, before finishing with Swedish to completely melt me into the table. We were BOTH spent. I've been lucky to find 3 true masters at body work and I'm glad to add Hong to that list. DO NOT hesitate if your body is in need - I wish I looked when I 1st arrived in Orlando, I surely would've been twice in a week!

Da Service: Brett was pleasant on the phone and Hong was a very personable, down to earth, "real" person. Speedy booking, check-in, and check out. Very clean facility, walls that reach the ceiling for privacy and sound control, I felt miles away. I generally only get to Orlando once a year, but am already thinking about visiting Massage Star Orlando & Hong twice next time!

TIPS: 1) Book an appointment, save $10 off a 1 hour+ session. 2) do 90 minutes or longer - I find 60 is not quite long enough 3) Stairs to the 2nd level are a bit hidden towards the middle left of the building 4) Do a session when you land and day before you leave (you deserve it!)... your body...

Awesome experience with Orlando Spa Oasis ❤️. Visiting Orlando for a 4-day nationals in swimming, I needed an hour massage for all four days. Bret, the owner and a massage therapist himself, has gathered a wonderful and highly skilled team. He went above and beyond to accommodate a customer (me) and took it upon himself to ensure that all my massage needs are met and even surpassed. I called the spa last minute and 15 minutes later I was already on the table in just the right hands. This has never happened anywhere else and to me it was beyond impressive. I travel for multiple swim meets around the country and am grateful to have experienced massage from multiple providers in many states. When Neyla, the masseuse, said she was from Columbia, I didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never had a massage with anyone from South America. I was blown away as she surpassed all expectations and left her a 33% tip. When asked by the reception staff afterward, I said, Amazing! Wow! In just 1 hour Neyla accomplished so much I didn’t know it was possible to do in 1.5 hours. Her technique is gentle, filled with care and attention to detail, yet efficient and very effective. Some elements of her massage I’ve never experienced in my life. To name a few - a full-hand facial and front of neck massage was super relaxing, a whole body massage with heated hands, followed by whole body hot stones massage (with no extra charge!). Neyla’s hot towels massage for the entire body didn’t feel like just a cleanup from oil but a purposeful technique that redefined massage for me. With the help of the owner, Bret, I was lucky and very grateful to be able to see Neyla two more times in the following days and each time she demonstrated the same level of professionalism and dedication. By the end I gave her a hug of appreciation as if she was family. I felt totally spoiled and know it’s going to be tough to settle for anything less going forward, whichever the destination, as the bar has been raised to a very new and unknown before level. My husband surprised me with a couples massage on Tuesday (5/14/19) and after making an appointment was panicking questioning whether I would approve or not.. So of course I asked him for the name and looked it up. The reviews looked great! Thanks to everyone leaving detailed reviews :) I knew I would be getting a massage way better than I would at any resort that baits you with "free drink, pool pass for the day .. etc." (even with a Groupon deal).

Let me tell you that I was not disappointed! BRET was GREAT! This guy knows what he's doing. He is actually licensed and knows physical therapy. Gave a great massage with the perfect amount of pressure (I requested medium). My husband had Mary (sorry if I have the wrong spelling) and he was so content. His explanation was "shes a pro!"

As far as my experience goes: It's a plus that Bret made me feel extremely comfortable. I'm so ticklish on my arms and he catered to that without being pushy. He was always worried about how comfortable I felt and when I told him "lets skip the arms" he did just that. I've had experiences where I tell the masseuse to please stay away from my arms and they've INSISTED! Making things very awkward. Thanks BRET!

They ended the massage with removing excess amounts of oils (YES!!!!). One of the downsides of massages for me is leaving slippery - thanks to the removal of oils we were able to go for brunch immediately after our massages.

Bret explained that he expects all of his associates to give a similar massage and this is genius! Nothing worse than going back to the same place, getting a different masseuse and having a completely different experience.
