To start of this place is some what good. Only because the owners are great and provide good service to there customers. On the other hand I do not see nothing that's fancy to this place. The prices could be better for their 1/2 pint - pint - & quart. they are incredibley over priced & for what it is it's not really worth the money. I get it all the ice cream is hand made but they also need to bring the prices down. I walked out with almost $80 worth. The downside is that when you buy there ice cream make sure you get the ones from the back of the shelf because sadly I bought some of there first role from the fridges & and all 3 quarts tasted old hard and like cardboard, So unfortunately I had to dispose of two of them to the trash ! If your looking for something better and reasonable I suggest you go down a local store and buy a quart that is well worth & worthy for your money. Another thing is the shop is located next to a quick lube place & the time that I went in the place wreaked like oil. For the location it is not a place were you would come by and buy ice cream. I think people only find it desirable only because they have a drive through window so it's convenient, only because they don't want to smell the oils in the air. Parking is also bad there. Overall the customer service is good but the place in general needs changes. I will not be returning to this location & i will tell my fellow family & coworker members to stay away. It's more like a check out one day place. Reconsidering a friend who told me about the place it's not worth the money ! This is not your typical...
Read moreUpdate, post COVID - Unfortunately, Legend does not seem to have weathered the shutdowns and pandemic well at all. The really neat ice-cream place I reviewed before is gone, with its awesome theming, small-but-comfy indoor seating area, and custom mixes. The options are now literally in pre-packaged cups and tubs, in a freezer case just sitting in the middle of the floor. No more custom, made-to-order ice cream, no more cool nitrogen clouds when the single-batch mixers freeze your mix. The ice cream is now made beforehand, in generic kitchen mixers from Fred Meyer. It's still decent ice cream... but if I wanted pre-packaged ice cream there's a lot of places I could go to get it. It's like going to a Coldstone and the guy is scooping out of a tub, it's just not the same.
--- PREVIOUS REVIEW ---
I was just made aware of Legend ice cream about a week ago, and I took my wife there for an evening out. I was relatively impressed, the ice cream was decent, and the atmosphere was neat. The prices were reasonably high but not out of believably, on par with other nice-quality ice cream shops. Our ice cream was quite good, the brownie tasted a little bit processed, but not severely. Overall, a good place! We'll definitely go back. Oh, if it's busy, be prepared to stand. The shop is very small, with correspondingly limited seating. And many small children, so it tends toward the noisy side. Our return visits will most likely be using the drive-through, and continuing on to one of the parks nearby to enjoy the outdoors, and great ice cream at...
Read moreThis place is in a kinda shady area of town, but we really wanted to try this "designer ice cream" they make and sell here. The ice cream was pretty yummy, and it was interesting to try "designer ice cream." Honestly, though, I probably would not be able to tell the difference between this ice cream and name brand store bought if they were put into the same containers and not labeled... so I would say it wasn't worth the price in the end. 1 pint was $12, and we tried several kinds. 1 oreo ice cream sandwich was $8 (I think). We bought 2 Oreo ice cream sandwiches: 1 with vanilla ice cream and 1 with cheesecake ice cream, plus pints: 1 double loaded cookie monster (bright blue), 1 strawberry cheese cake, 1 peanutbutter explosion, and 1 lemon blueberry cheesecake. Staff greeted us when we walked in but did not offer any advice or try to sell us on anything in particular. In fact, they said absolutely nothing after the initial "hello" until we checked out. We did not get to see nor were we offered a demonstration of their unique style of ice cream making, so that was disappointing... Overall, it was interesting to try "designer ice cream" but, in our opinion, it was not worth the cost and we will not be returning again to this...
