K & K Orient Valley Food Center — Restaurant in Escondido

We got hungry for a Filipino Fiesta (feast) but I didn't feel like cooking all the different dishes that I want just for the three of us; Kare-kare, fresh Lumpia, dinuguan with puto, sisig, pancit, bibingka, ginataang bilo-bilo and of course garlic fried rice. So off I went three cities east of us (11 miles) to get the food we're craving. It's like a Pinoy buffet but with left-overs. Fred is so happy with KK Orient Valley Food Center in Escondido, CA. He's kinda picky with Filipino food, it has to taste authentic not Americanized, nothing bland, and of course fresh. Bonus is the pricing. Very reasonably priced. I pre-ordered a half tray of Kare-kare and requested no tripe. They accommodated my request and no extra charge for the customization. This is a point-point joint but you can pre-order trays of food if you want. During this Rona season, no eat in allowed, keep your social distancing, wear mask, and be considerate. Came here on a Saturday morning. Restaurant is located in a strip mall so there's a lot of parking. Although they open early, I would suggest to get here after 10:30am so there's more selections.

Food: 2 Item Combo Pork Sinigang Chicharon Pancit Tocino and longanisa with rice BBQ stick

The chicharon was the highlight for me. The pork sinigang tasted good but the meat was hmmm tough and maybe previously frozen hard, cooked, then chilled again. But, again the soup was delicious. The tocino was also delicious however the longanisa to me is a hot dog. I had ask again what that meat was and they said longanisa. Had to also ask what dialect or where in the Philippines is the style of cooking is from and one of the workers said Ilocano. So, I'm Ilocano and the Ilocano longenisa I know is with vinegar flavor and not like a hot dog. Oh well. The suman was equally as good too.

I am a regular customer at this place, I love their food, and I have never had a complaint until today, there are always 3 ladies serving, 2 are very friendly and always smiling, one not so much, well, today the lady who never smiles and always looks in a bad mood helped me, even so I always try to ask for my order as politely as I can and today was no exception, I ordered my food and when I asked if I she could put them in separate bags she didn't even answer me and when she charged me she put the food to the side with the bags on top so I could put them inside which they always do it, I didn't care and I did it, but it seemed rude of her, then I asked for forks cause she didn’t give ne any, and very upset she literally threw them at me 🥺🥺🥺.She made me feel so so bad that no matter how much I love their food I will never go back, she was very rude and I don't...
