We arrived at 2:30 knowing that check-in technically was at 3:30 p.m. A sign at the door indicated they would be back at 3 p.m. I came in the office shortly after 3 p.m. to check-in. I mentioned that it would have been nice if the paperwork or website would have indicated that the office is closed for part of the day. The staff person stated that "don't I deserve a lunch". I later found out that they close the office every day from 1-3 p.m. I said it isn't a problem if only I knew in advance that you don't allow early check-ins. The office person once again complained about deserving a lunch and said that I was lucky he was allowing me to check-in at 3 p.m. because he could make me wait until 3:30 p.m. The sign on the door says office hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and "Closed mid-day for lunch". I asked if he would be willing to tell management to post the real hours online along with "no early check-ins" online and in the paperwork sent to avoid the mis-communication. The staff person wasn't happy with me and told me that he won't tell management. I don't mind different rules for a one person office. I just asked questions and then asked why don't they put this information on their website or at least in the information sent to people after they reserve a room.||We really looked forward to using the outside hot tub after hiking which was a big reason we picked Brynwood over other options. We went to the pool to use the hot tub and found it empty and in obvious need of repair. Once again, I wonder why they didn't have this listed on the website. The info sheet they passed out also had one whole section of hot tub rules.||The motel room in the main building had a musty smell to it. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan and the ceiling had colored spots and even black spots on it indicating that it was getting moldy from guests showering without an exhaust fan. I could have overlooked this, but with all of the other poor communication explained above that I would never recommend staying...
Read moreOur family of 4 stayed in the Bear Haven cabin over Memorial Weekend week and were pleasantly surprised! We stayed here because it was only a short 10-15 minute drive to the entrance of RMNP and it was the perfect location to lots of other restaurants . Floors were clean (no dirty feet!), beds were clean and comfortable, pillows were also comfortable. We appreciated all the cabin decor and all the extra hooks for hanging up towels or jackets. The bathroom was newly renovated and well-stocked with bath towels, face towels, make-up remover toweletts (which I thought was a nice touch), and basic toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and soap as in hotels. I also appreciated the extra towels provided for using with the hot tub. The kitchen was stocked with plates, cups, eating utensils (for at least 8), a few pots and pans and cutting board (which could use some updating), some basic seasonings like salt and pepper. I was pleased to find a bottle of shared dishwashing soap, a brand new dish sponge, and a dish drying rack under the sink. We loved our hot tub! It was large enough to fit 4 and it worked fine! The only suggestion I have is to maybe add knobs to the kitchen cabinets. The cabinets were pretty sticky and gross feeling. This cabin is closer to the entrance of the property so there isn't much of a mountain view but we didn't have a problem with too much traffic or noise. FYI, there are many other cabins on this property so if you want to be away from other people, this isn't the...
Read moreGood but not great... My family and I went up this past weekend for 3 nights, we stayed in the Bear Haven cabin. The cleaning fellow did a good job, it felt well kept on the inside besides a few things like a broken screen door which got annoying after slamming shut all the time. It’s a also a bit dated compared to other cabins in the area. I’ll say that overall I like the feeling of the cabin but be warned it is close to a main road. My biggest knock back was the hot tub. We specifically searched for a place with a personal hot tub and even called ahead to make sure our hot tub was in running order. We were told that it was in perfect shape. Once we got in we realized that more then half the jets didn’t work, and hadn’t been working for some time. This was a huge disappointment since there was 4 of us and only one person could use jets. When we told the maintenance man about it, he was very rude and told us to simply “Take turns” and walked away. This hot tub situation was a real disappointment since we paid extra for a cabin with a hot tub. So if this is why you are going to these cabins, be warned. The front desk staff did apologize and they also gave us a little gift since we were up there for my graduation which was very kind of them. I would recommend these cabins if your looking for a short stay and your not to keen on a fully working hot tub, and you don’t mind being so close to a main...
