El Rancho Grande - Fairborn — Restaurant in Fairborn

Most of my thoughts have already been offered as captions to my photos. However, I'd add that I don't enjoy it when things are served to me in plastic. It's bad enough that the salsa came in cafeteria-like bowls, but our $32 pitcher of margaritas was served in a plastic pitcher that servers use to fill water glasses.

The food was fine--no complaints there. But there's more to a meal than just the taste and temperature of food. Other senses--especially vision--need to be satisfied as well. So when I'm given plastic bowls, a plastic pitcher, etc....

We visited mid afternoon, and although we weren't the only patrons, it certainly wasn't nearly crowded enough to explain the poor service. We literally had to ask for everything! The only reason we had napkins and flatware is that the tables are set up with them. We had to ask for plates on which to eat our appetizers, more chips when the basket was down to crumbs, and so on. Our table was never cleared on any items, so by the end we had a stack of plates, trash, and six glasses. It was an ugly way to end our visit.

In closing I'd say that when we walked in we were impressed with what we saw, but what we thought would be at least a four-star experience, Unfortunately, what we received was a two.

The wait was terrible.. there was no hostess and after waiting for 10 minutes with another couple ahead of us and the wait crowd growing i asked the couple in front of me how long they had been told to wait.. she said that no one has even come to greet them and they had been now waiting 15 minutes! I saw a employee come out checking customers out for order pick up how were they doing seating.. he said there will be a 45 minute wait.. I asked if they were taking names..he said yes and said someone will be with you soon.. the crowd is now growing and some that were waiting left.. about 4 minutes later my husband goes back over to the guy and ask whats going on because we counted after I said something and 12 people had left.. at least 4 left before we started counting and we could see plenty of tables.. the guy then has someone come over and seat the couple in front of us at the table they had been staring at for over 20 minutes.. after we were seated which was right after them, the service was great and the employee and the front gave us 2...

food was amazing, but 2 stars bc the service wasn’t. at first i thought our table was getting mistreated bc we were young, which sucks bc we are a table full of servers who usually tip above 25%. we all ordered a waters bc its a work night and that’s what we got, 1 water the entire time.. had to let my ice melt to get a drink. okay cool i’ll just ask for a refill next time i see her??? no, can’t do that bc i saw the food runner far more often than our server. turns out the entire time she was just too excited to get us out of the door hitting us with “i don’t mean to be rude but i have a graduation to get to”. i get it, with service industry it gets in the way of our personal life, but it is NOT the customers fault. i can 100% guarantee the we would have been out sooner had our server actually help us with a better attitude, she would have been able to get to the grad faster with better tips from us. if this is how she is on the daily, girlfriend is in the wrong...
