UP DATE: the original review was written prior to checking out this is a follow up response because of the uncomfortableness i endured during this stay i asked if the room could be Looked over for confirmation that everything is okay in reference to my incidental fee being returned the guy who checked me in the previous day was the exact same person who checked me out , and looked over the room while I waited 5 mins in the lobby for his return confirming everything looked fine. He came out of the elevator (this is all on camera) gave me the thumbs up and said " everything's good you'll see your 100$ returned within 3-5 business days and checked me out" Possibly 45 mins later i am now at the doctor getting lab work done and i get a call from the name "America" and in a thick rude accent a man says " why did you write that review we were very nice to you " taken back for a moment realizing i was in the middle of getting my blood drawn i responded "excuse me" he then repeats himself " we were very nice to you why did you write that review " now at this moment im flabbergasted by a professional establishment confronting me about my personal opinion written on google 😕 i say" um im at the doctor you can call me back at a more convenient time and I'll be more then happy to tell you how I feel / felt" Fast forward 20 mins later im now at the gas station checking my bank account when I notice a brand new charge for 100$ taken fr my bank account within the last 15 mins from the comfort inn. i immediately dial the number that called me back the same guy answers i immediately ask " why did you just charge me 100$" he says "because we were very nice to you and you wrote that review" 😳 taken back once again i actually laugh this time because theirs no way this business just admitted to charging me a retaliation fee in the United states of America theirs no way so i clarify " did you just say you charged me because you didn't like my personal opinion that I am entitled to about my stay in your establishment "? He says again "we were very nice to you my manager said to charge you "i asked for what ? He says "i don't know. You'll need to speak with my manger who comes in at 3 or 4pm.......atp i disconnect the call & immediately contacted my financial institution to start the investigation process giving a full detail of the events that transpired they were shocked! After the call with my bank i contact travelocity the 3rd party i book all my stays through for the last 10 years now. They placed me on hold to phone the hotel about my complaint the hotel then tells travelocity they charged me a smokers fee😲 wow I don't smoke or drink & my 15 year old son was with me during my stay. So this is a bold face lie atp i voice my disgust with what s transpiring advising travolicty to open an investigation regarding this hotel they've partner with to avoid anyone else that looks like me going through something similar just solely based on the evidence i have alone its clear as day this is a relatAlltion fee. Theirs camera footage and my call log along with my bank statement time stamp to prove this bogus charge the 3rd party apologizes and offers a credit while I appreciate the gesture this was not good enough this is fraud and illegal so i have my bank get further involved they then phone the hotel as well the exact same guy answers and says "it was a late check out fee now 😒 even though i checked out at 11:15am with their permission. Now im filing a police report for fraud and theft & YES theirs an active/ Open investigation going on with the fishers police department i recommend you and your family stay far away...

Pros: Modern decor, not too noisy for being next to the Interstate, convenient location.

Cons: Room key cards stop working BEFORE check out time, housekeeping knocked on my door an hour and a half before check out time waking me up.

Major Issue: [Context: When I checked out there was a couple in front of me at the front desk questioning why the hotel was not returning their deposit. When checking out, the family had informed the hotel that they held a child's birthday party in the room and there was confetti on the floor. When the front desk said they would not refund the deposit the couple offered to go back to the room and clean up the mess themselves but the front desk would not return their room key even though it was not yet check out time (I arrived at the front desk at 10:50 and they had been there for a while; check out time is 11:00).]

The employee was on the phone and after a few minutes came back and said they would not return the deposit. When the couple asked why the hotel would not refund it, the employee claimed it was because housekeeping "would have to clean their room longer". I pointed out that this is not a legitimate reason for withholding a deposit as the hotel's terms and conditions require a deposit in the event of damage and/or incidentals. Vacuuming a room's floor is something the hotel's cleaning staff should be doing after EVERY stay; it is not an additional service to charge for.

By this time more people arrived in line behind me and the couple asked to speak with whomever the employee was speaking with on the phone. The employee spoke on the phone again and then said they would return $80 (out of the $100 deposit). He then said the manager was on the way and that if the couple did not leave he was going to call the police.

The employee then checked me out and gave me my receipt. I asked if I was being charged a cleaning fee and he said no. I asked why not since no one from the hotel had even inspected my room yet to see if it was clean or needed “additional cleaning”. He looked around nervously and didn’t respond.

Our experience at the Comfort Inn Suites Fishers was distressingly poor. Our night began with a shocking discovery as we woke up to find termites swarming around our pillows and heads. The distress was further compounded by the numerous bug bites we suffered as a result.

Upon reporting this alarming issue to the front desk, the staff’s reaction was profoundly disappointing. They displayed a lack of concern and informed us that nothing could be addressed until Monday when the manager would be available. We even presented physical evidence of the termites by capturing some in a cup and taking photographs, only to be met with a dismissive attitude, suggesting that it was neither their fault nor their problem.

To add to our frustration, the resolution offered was a possible refund via Zelle but no promises, which raised concerns about its legitimacy. This felt quite inappropriate and unprofessional for a reputable hotel chain. Despite having a membership status and checking in under the military veterans leisure package which usually entails some level of prioritized service, we were treated as though our concerns were nothing but a silly complaint.

As we left the room we over heard the guest next door to us complain about the same issue with her son. As she walked down the hall she was also disturbed and disappointed that the staff did not care. The staff did nothing, not even go check the room for validation because they were disgusted. I suppose as long as it was not them waking up with termites, ants and bug bites, then it was not their problem. We only slept in the bed for one night. Did not even stay in the room due to a family member’s deathly illness.

As of now, I am still awaiting a response from a manager. The room rates, while somewhat reasonable, are certainly not justified given the severe shortcomings in service and guest care we experienced.
