Seen an average of 4.4 stars so i decided to stay here on a small getaway and see if the place was deserving of such a high rating. At 1st sight My fiance and I were pleased with the setup of the room, and the cleanliness of the property itself. Staff at the front desk was very polite and informative. Upon returning from a long day of shopping we noticed the room smoke detector was having a problem from the steam of the shower causing it to sound audible alarms that were annoying and prolonged until showers were complete. Secondly BRING YOUR OWN ICE!!! WAS INFORMED there were personal ice machines inside the refrigerator in the room. That's great i thought until I took a sip of the water and ice which had a displeasing taste and somewhat oily consistency being it has not been ran much. Left me feeling sick to the stomach so i drank a cold pepsi instead that we bought back with us. As we continued to wind down the King size bed was calling my name.. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE FANCY SETUP inside the room people!! This was the ABSOLUTE WORSE SLEEP IVE HAD in years.. Tossed and turned all night due to the UN-fluffed pillows and the bed feeling like rolled up cardboard under soft material.. SLEEP QUALITY IS A 1.25 OUT OF 10. Moving along we got up early to have breakfast to send us off as any couple would do staying at a 4.4 star rated establishment... I am a fresh OJ on-ice type of guy in the morning. However it seemed frowned upon to ask for it from the lady servicing the area. Cups were taken to the cooking area and ice thrown in them and handed back to me. I then proceeded to make eggs and sausage with biscuits and gravy. I was then told by a black woman in the cooking area " You should have went to McDonald's" if you want that kind of service.. EXCUSE ME?? I was taken away by the negative remark. If I'm staying in a 4.4 star rated establishment wouldnt you assume i have the money to do just that? Totally rubbed me the wrong way.. Set down and proceeded to eat the UNFLAVORED BREAKFAST FOOD and i noticed the sausages were cold to the touch and even colder if you squueze to see if there hot but had grill marks as if they were freshly cooked... This is how you get sick from improperly cooked food items. They were refrigerated and without heating them up put in the serving bowl to serve. Guessing the heat from the machine would warm them to a safe temperature. This may be true but what about the people preparing breakfast food right then and there and or on their way to eat breakfast.. BAD Decision AND A Possible Costly 1 IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE FOOD Bourne ILLNESSES... After discussing our plans to head out I noticed a woman walking in that was dressed differently than who was behind the counter so I figured this had to be management. I politely asked to speak to her from the side and told her the rude comment that the employee made and that the sausage was cold and not edible. I was then told she was over the finances at the establishment and asked if there was anything she could do to appropriate the situation. She then proceeded to have a talk with the employees about the food and rude comments that were made. As we were exiting the breakfast area she approached me and told me there was no "Black Employee" in the kitchen at all and that the sausages were being reheated to a safe temperature but did not revisit the "what can i do to make this situation right" part of her conversation we had. She then said at this establishment "we have people that stay here as a home so maybe the person that said the comment was A GUEST and was not affiliated with the company as a worker, but had on the same attire as the Mexican lady that was employed? HOW IS THIS OKAY? HOW CAN YOU Guarantee THE SAFETY OF THE FOOD BEING EATEN IF YOU HAVE GUEST OF YOUR ESTABLISHMENT IN THE FOOD Preparation AREA? YOU CANNOT!! WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS and quite frankly a situation where overstepping your boundaries should have been addressed and was not. We proceeded to leave the city of Indianapolis not only the establishment! THANKS TO STAYBRIDGE...
Read moreA reservation was made for this hotel on our behalf by my husband's company for an 8 day stay for his work. We were informed by the office that the pet deposit would be $125. We were to stay for 4 days prior to, and 3 days following the eclipse. Upon check in, approximately 8pm on Monday April 1, 2024 we were informed that our pet was not allowed in common areas (ie; lobby, dining area, pool area, & courtyard). On April 2, I was approached in the hallway to my room by a lady I assumed to be the manager (she did not identify herself) who rudely informed me that the long part of the hallway was off limits to my dog that I should be taking him out the nearest door to my room and he's not allowed to use the restroom ANYWHERE EXCEPT THE PET AREA located on the opposite end of the building from our room. On April 3, I opened the door to my room to find a male staff member who appeared to have been attempting to look through the peephole in my door. He was so close to my door he nearly fell over when I opened it to the inside of the room. My dog REACTED by barking loudly as we were both startled On April 4th I took my dog and went to the grocery store about 9am. Upon returning at 11am, my key wouldn't work on my room. Housekeeping said for me to go to the front desk. So I loaded my groceries and my dog back into my vehicle and did just that. I was then told that my dog had attacked one staff member and one guest and they were kicking us out of the motel. My dog barked at some creepy employee dude trying to look in my room!!! That is all. Here's the best part though!! When they kicked us out, they told me I would be refunded the remainder of my stay as well as half of the pet deposit. Ten minutes after I left the charge came thru on my credit card for $150, the entire amount of the pet deposit (which according to their own website is $125). My husband's company WAS ALSO CHARGED THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE ENTIRE STAY AS WELL. I called when I arrived at my new hotel and asked about a refund for the last 4 days of the pet deposit since I did not ask to leave. The manager said she was taking care of it while on the phone with me. 3 days later it showed up on my credit card as a posted transaction for ...YOU GUESSED IT $150. I called immediately and spoke again the the female claiming to be the manager who told me she had done the refund days earlier when we were speaking on the phone. So I asked for the confirmation number for that transaction. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes then came back on and gave me a confirmation number. The credit showed up as pending while we were still talking which tells me SHE LIED THE FIRST TIME ABOUT THE REFUND. All in all a trip that should have cost us $75 for our pet deposit, ended up costing slightly over $3300 for a 10 day stay +$75 pet deposit. I have never been treated so badly EVER at any other IHG hotel. I would never return to this place and I will NOT EVER RECOMMEND it to anyone unless you enjoy being treated so awfully. So ladies, watch out for the creeper in the hallway. He's an actual employee. Also, buyer beware. Sincerely, a...
Read moreThe first room we were given was not cleaned properly. The floor upon entry in the kitchen area was so sticky that it felt like walking on dried soda. Upon looking further, there was an ottoman in one of the 2 bedrooms that had what looked to be like dog vomit on it. They gave us another room, this one had cobwebs on the exposed baseboards, a clearly uncleaned, sticky tabletop, clumps of hair all over the living room chair cushion, pretzels bits in the bathroom cubby next to the hair dryer, and ants in one bedroom. They took forever to figure out another room, and that one is where we moved into. Entire checkin process - over an hour.
Next, we end up with ants in one bedroom in this room too. My husband ended up going to Home Depot and getting spray and bait traps because the staff seemed uninterested in helping. The ants had a line on the wall, coming from the outlet under the nightstand between the two beds in one bedroom. The spray and traps seemed to fix this while we were there. Hotel staff shrugged and said "we have an ant problem every summer".
As our 10 days progressed, we realized that our air conditioner was pumping cold, but WET air. We had to through some boxes away because they became so soft, they were useless. We were told there was nothing they could do.
A smoke alarm went off in one bedroom at 1AM and the only woman on staff at the desk was annoyed that she was disturbed, and said there was nothing she could do. This was waking us up, AND the people above us, since it was at their floor. My fireman husband told her that he would pop the battery out and that it should send a trouble code to her fire alarm panel - she said she didn't care. He asked her if she knew how to reset the panel and she said no. Upon taking out the battery (it's a hardwired system so the battery is only backup) the noise of course continues, but he brings the battery down and asks for a replacement. She barely opens one draw next to her and says "nope". So my husband told her that he'd be removing the head and that she may have to deal with the panel and/or the FD. She said "whatever". That woman is responsible for hundreds of sleeping souls in that building and she has no idea what to do if the system misbehaves. No one has trained her, or she doesn't care.
The real kick in the pants - when I'm checking out, I tell the woman it's room 314 and the guy at the desk to my right says "oh I was in that room my first week here" and I said "did you hate it as much as we did?" he said "it was so wet in there and there were ants". When I tell the woman about the smoke alarm and the fire panel - she asked me what time of day it was and then she said "oh it doesn't surprise me that she...
