We tried out the galaxy diner yesterday. It was cute and cozy but needs some repairs and cleaning and staff needs to be trained a little more. I had the Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich with fries. My husband had the Fish Sandwich with fries. Our son had a Galaxy Burger with fries. We all really enjoyed the food. The fries were tasty and crispy. They have many drink and dessert options. Breakfast is served all day. The menu does not change from breakfast to lunch to dinner. We did have an issue when we first arrived and were seated. There was a young waitress behind the counter standing and talking to a customer for a long time. They were also "popping straws" very loudly right next to our table. I asked our waitress to ask them to stop, and she did ask them, but the waitress behind the counter and her buddy continued another 3 times before her and her friend left together. They were smiling the whole time and didn't seem to care. I'm a veteran with ptsd and it caused problems for the rest of my night. If it was just me I wouldn't go back but I'm trying to write from a more non-bias perspective. The majority of the staff seem very young and would rather talk with friends and goof around on their phones instead of helping customers. Our waitress was pretty good or I would have given a lower review for service. They did have live music by a gentleman with a guitar who also sang. He was good. The front door handles were broken and the lights higher on the ceiling look like they haven't had the bugs cleaned out of them for years. The shiny metal above the long counter had all kinds of hand prints like it was handled by a toddler and left. It's up near the ceiling so I'm not sure how those prints get up there to begin with but it's the entire length of the counter. The bathrooms were dirty as well. I hope this is seen by the staff and manager. It seems like a nice place that...
Read moreOh man where to start.
We walked in and it's great atmosphere at first it's like all retro and it's nice one thing that caught me off guard is how obsessive the wall is of Marilyn Monroe so many pictures it's overwhelming. Second they had a guy playing live music but I think the place was to small for live music because I couldn't hear when trying to talk to my fiance.
We sat down to our table and got some water. Once we got our water we ordered the route 66 appetizer. It took 20mins and we got it but oh man it was disgusting.
The jalapeno poppers tasted like canned green beans
The onion rings were burned and tasted like burger king.
The chicken was mostly breading and tastes like it came from a microwave.
The pickle spears were okay
The mozzarella sticks breading was crumbling off.
It tasted all so greasy though and hurt our stomaches. We also waited since we ordered a total of 55mins for two burgers. We got it after we heard the bell ring and we got our food. It looked good. I picked up the fry and it was cold. I was PO and I checked my burger it was cold as well. How do we wait one hour and it's cold as hell. There was only two other tables a total of about 8 people were waiting for their food. I sent it back and we got up to pay for our appetizer. I blamed that they were down to servers. But that wouldn't make sense since as soon as the expo put out food up we got our food and it was cold. So to my assumption it had to be the expo team slacking off.
Another thing is their online menu is super outdated. I paid 2x as much in the restaurant.
I wouldn't recommend their dinner but I will also be trying their breakfast because I hear it's great. Will update the review...
Read moreNestled on the corner of Main Street, the Retro Diner is a nostalgic gem that transports you back to the golden era of diners. The atmosphere is lively and warm, with a jukebox playing classic hits and booths adorned with vintage memorabilia. As you step inside, the friendly staff greets you with smiles, setting the tone for an enjoyable dining experience.
One of the standout features of the Retro Diner is its impressive milkshake menu, boasting an astounding 100 different flavors. From traditional chocolate and vanilla to more adventurous options like lavender honey and chili mango, there's a milkshake for every palate. Each shake is expertly crafted, creamy, and indulgent, making them the perfect treat to sip while enjoying the vibrant ambiance.
Adding to the diner’s charm is the live musician who performs nightly. The soothing tunes create a delightful backdrop, enhancing the overall vibe and making it an ideal spot for a casual date night or a fun outing with friends.
However, not everything is perfect. The biscuits and gravy, while comforting in theory, fell short of expectations. The biscuits were served cold, lacking the warmth and fluffiness that one hopes for in this classic dish. The gravy, though flavorful, didn’t quite make up for the disappointing presentation.
Overall, the Retro Diner is a fantastic spot for those seeking a fun atmosphere, a diverse milkshake selection, and live music. Just be prepared to pass on the biscuits and gravy if you’re looking for a complete...
