Reserved two rooms for two nights for our family but only made it through one. Booked it because of the positive reviews but definitely didn't have a positive experience. I guess the one good thing is that the rooms were pretty clean. Now the bad. The beds were super uncomfortable, hard as can be. I'm 6'2", 195 lbs, so I'm not bottoming out any mattresses by any means but if you lay on your side for longer than 30 minutes you'll go numb on that side. Our kids said the same thing about their beds. Our bed also had a metal frame that squeaked loudly if you blinked your eyes too hard. The bathroom vanity area is open to the room and is also the "closet", which is a just rod with hangers on it that extends over the counter top (see photo). If you hang clothes on it you will be blocking your access to the hand towel bar and most of your counter space. Also, the hair dryer has a built-in night light on it like the kind you find in an enclosed bathroom/vanity space (see photo). However this is out in the open, so at night it lights up the entire room. Once you realize this in the middle of the night you have to get up to unplug the hair dryer. The parking lot is frequently occupied by people making all kinds of noise with loud talking, shouting, loud exhaust pipes on modified vehicles, loud stereos bumping music, etc. I'm talking at 1, 2, 3am. Meeting up with each other out in the open to idk, trade Pokemon cards? They take their time and act as if these are just everyday activities for them in this parking lot, so obviously they know they have no worries about the hotel addressing it or calling law enforcement to deal with it. Kept us up for long periods of time that night. In the morning we didn't even stay for whatever they had for breakfast. We packed everything up, loaded the car and went to the front desk to tell them that we were not staying there a second night and to cancel our reservation immediately. They did so and did not even bother to ask how our stay was or why we were leaving early, so my guess is that they've learned to avoid questions that lead to hearing...
Read moreI usually do not leave negative reviews unless I feel that what has happened is unjustified. I explained to the hotel that I have medical documentation for my emotional support animals from a doctor. I have two bichons, one my husband’s and one mine, both are beautiful dogs. They are well trained emotional support animals of 15 years. They have traveled all over the world with me. Never have I ever had an issue with someone telling me how I could be prosecuted by the hotel and charged $500 if I brought my dogs into the hotel, I had saw an Airbnb close by that I was about to book around the same price, but would’ve rather have stayed in a hotel I understand their policies and conditions, but I thought that it was very wrong for the receptionist to put me on hold to get the documentation to explain to me how they “hotel” can prosecute me under florida law For even bringing my dogs into the hotel. Which I found very appalling. Why not just say we do not accept pets or emotional support animals. I find it absolutely discriminative that I have medical documentation from doctors and was denied. That’s OK because the Airbnb that I’m staying at, I will list it for you. Name is “Tropical Private Suite $0 cleaning fee” 80$ for the night accepts pets without a fee and It is located between Florida City and Homestead. I really don’t want to send this review in a bad way, but I do feel like this chain of hotel should understand that these animals are our support. And I find it crazy that they don’t even accept animals whatsoever. I’d say 80% of the country owns animals. Trust me, can I make one suggestion, you’re losing money? I really appreciate the receptionist giving me my money back, but I felt like her cancer was not...
Read moreI have stayed in over 50+ hotels since August 2023, and this hotel is one of my top three, and I have been staying in this hotel for over a month.
The staff is amazing, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, everything is well maintained, breakfast is good, pool is clean, security protects the guest/entire lot, the outdoor areas of this property are very clean and decorated to accommodate all of the beautiful nature that surrounds the hotel.
The owner, Sunny, is professional and friendly and accommodates to meet the needs of all the guests and the employees. The employees rave about Sunny as a boss, Sunny, takes a lot of pride in both hotels, Sunny also owns the Quality Inn next door, and it is just as nice as this hotel.
I also believe that Sunny's brother and family members all contribute their time and energy.
If I knew the names of all of Sunny's employees I would mention them ALL, and it bothers me to not have all the names because they all derserve a shout out, however, the names that I do know include the amazing front desk staff, Vanessa and Janet, house keeper Vanessa, security Jordan.
I'd like to still recognize all the staff whos names I don't know, the two maintenance guys who are always working hard, all of the frontdesk staff, the breakfast room staff, both security guards, all housekeepers, other owners and managers, and anyone else I didn't mention, because each and everyone of the staff makes this hotel something worth loudly raving about.
Thank you to all Travelodge & Quality Inn staff/family for taking pride in your jobs. It...
