Little funny tidbit-Chris came up to my table asking me to leave a review and I was actually already in the middle of leaving one!! HAHA, perfect timing Chris!
I can see why this place has 4.8 stars on Google Reviews! The service is wonderful, and Kayla was very sweet while taking my order.
FOOD: The food is amazing. I ordered a small sweet and spicy Molokai chicken with the guava nectar Hawaiian Sun. I see a lot of photos with the large plate, and think the small size is actually very filling already! It also came with pasta, and there are 3 different sauces that come with your dish. Pineapple BBQ, Sriracha, and something else (I don't remember).
I'd say the Molokai is more sweet than spicy. I prefer spicier foods so I think I'll order their spiciest dish next time! đ¶ The chicken is very juicy and the rice has a soft fluffiness that I love. I thought everything was perfectly cooked.
SEATING AND ACCESSIBILITY: âżïž It's a quieter restaurant, with plenty of seating. There are both lower and higher tables, and there are two entrances: One with stairs and the other with a ramp.
ORDERING PROCESS: There's multiple kiosks inside for you to order, or you can order from one of the staff members.
MERCH: They also sell t-shirts for $10 USD!
I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite. :-) Food comes...
Read moreIt was the first time visiting for my wife and I. We thought we'd try something new. And since we love Hawaii (been there 12+ times), we thought we'd give it a try. My wife had the veggie platter which comes with steamed veggies, rice and macaroni salad. She let the server know that she was gluten allergic and the young lady said they could hold the macaroni salad. However when we got the meal, it included the macaroni salad so they had to remake it. Kindly, since they would just have to throw away the other meal, they just gave it to me (the steamed veggies could have benefited from some butter and garlic salt to be more flavorful). I ordered the Hawaiian grill salad which included teriyaki flavored chicken on top of a basic salad along with crispy noodles. My meal was tasty and the teriyaki flavored chicken was good. The fruit smoothies, (I had the pineapple and my wife had the strawberry), were far too sweet for our liking. I could come back but for my wife it was a hard pass. So I don't think we'll be back. By the way, according to the counter person, when I asked if the company was actually owned several Hawaiian Brothers or if it was just a name, she mentioned it was owned by two "white guys". No problem....
Read moreSadly, I wasnât completely impressed with the food. We ordered 2 types of chicken and luau pig. First off, itâs far less food than what is in the photos. The meat is sitting on rice in reality and comes with a scoop of rice as well. In the photos you can barely see a bed of rice. In reality that main section is half rice so I did not at all feel like I got my moneyâs worth. Secondly, the two types of chicken we ordered (huli huli and Honolulu) look and taste nearly identical and were not labeled. We had no idea which was which, but one tasted slightly more spicy and bitter than the other. Neither chicken meal was great tasting. Just mediocre. I believe they were chicken thighs and many pieces had chunks of fat on them. Plus, the mac salad got nice and warm sitting next to warm food. It should be plenty obvious to not put cold food in the same container as warm food much less in the same bag. The Mac salad also tasted strange and bitter and very bland. Iâve had much, much better from a grocery store. The pork was somewhat oversalted but good. Overall, I donât see much reason at all to order more food from this restaurant. And we were really looking forward to...
