This was my second visit to this saltgrass location and I am convinced that whoever is in the back cooking just is not seasoning food well. The location in the Dallas area is far superior when it comes to the quality of food products place before patrons. Initially I ordered the salmon which was supposed to be 5 oz but I believe it must have been 5 oz Frozen because what was served there's no way that was a cooked 5 oz. as advertised. So, I opted for the chicken fried steak which was decent but nowhere as good as the Tyler Texas location. Even our Rattlers were different than I have previously enjoyed in Dallas. The shrimp extended throughout the whole piece of jalapeno pepper and with each bite we were able to enjoy shrimp jalapeno and cheese but at this location the shrimp that are being used are considerably smaller and don't pack the punch that was expected. The reason I fell in love with Saltgrass Steak House was because of the chicken fried steak ( and my husband loved the steak)that I had in Tyler. The meat was marinated and seasoned to perfection and also the batter or crust of the chicken fried steak was also seasoned. It was not overly salty just the perfect combination. So that is why I have tried this restaurant twice to see if they were just having an off day the first time we went. I had a gift card and completely forgot about using it because I was disappointed that the chicken fried steak wasn't as good as in East Texas. I don't think I'll give up on this restaurant chain just yet but I believe I'll just go to another location the next time Saltgrass is what anyone wants.

I ordered a Togo order that has a house salad. Which comes with a 2 ounce side of dressing. I get home and dressing cup is half full. I go back to restaurant. Manager comes and talks to me. I explain that there isn’t enough dressing. He mumbles something like what I got was correct, it’s supposed to be a 2 ounce dressing, grabs my bag and walks off. When he brings it back he drops off and leaves. I walk up to him holding the dressing cup and say “ sir you are correct, this is a 2 ounce cup, but you Guys are only filling it half full which is 1 ounce, and that’s not enough to cover a house salad. He argues and tells me that’s a 4 ounce cup. I said “sir, this is a 2 ounce cup, it’s pretty obvious it’s not 4 ounces”. He then says “yes it is, would you like me to get a measuring cup and show you?” I just shook my head and walked off. But what I should have done was say “yes, please show me, and then watch him look like a fool”. Someone who works there please read this and go show your manager that the dressing cups for Togo orders are not 4 ounces, and let him know he needs some educating. And also quit scamming your customers out of an ounce of dressing. Go ahead and fill it up and give us the 2 ounces that the item is supposed to come with. And if it’s too expensive. Then raise the price by 16 cents and give me the correct amount of dressing. This is ridiculous. It’s obvious you are either scamming customers out of dressing, or your managers don’t know how much an ounce is.

Let me say this. We all are feeling tough times these days with how covid-19 has changed out lives. With that said, this experience is still unacceptable. The manager running the host desk was outright standoffish, and rude. Our server did the bare minimum (including not wearing his mask over his mouth and nose, and instead had the mask down on his chin and under his bottom lip): took drink and food order, dropped food off, and dropped refills we needed after the bread was brought out when he handed off the ticket. I ordered a chicken fried chicken and they gave me a chicken fried steak. My mom ordered a medium well steak and it came out well done(no pinkvat all in the center). The butter on top of her steak didn't melt which is a sign it was left to sit longer than it should've before being sent out. My chicken fried steak was slightly below room temperature, and the fries were soggy before I consumed them. My family opted to not even waste time consulting a manager since the initial encounter was so bad upfront and just eat since it took forever to get our food the first time and it was obvious our server wasn't interested in the job. I absolutely will not be returning here. For the price they want you to pay for their "premium" food, this was a 👎🏻👎🏻 experience. The attitude of the employees reflects management. I wasn't surprised the service was bad after seeing how management acts.

If I could rate this lower than one star, I would! I typically don’t write reviews but the service we received last night at this location was just that bad!! We were a party of 13 celebrating a birthday.... what should have been a happy time turned into one of frustration and disappointment. The servers were slow. Took their time following up. Glasses sat empty until I went to the Server station to ask for help. When salads were finally brought it was only for half of the table. The rest of us waited another 15 minutes for our salads. When I commented to the server about the service she simply responded, “I’m sorry that you feel that way”. I was in awe. I ordered the seafood fondue as my appetizer. It never came out. When I finally inquired about it, I was told they didn’t have any more. I asked the server why didn’t she tell me because I would have ordered something else. She responded, “oh I didn’t know you wanted something else”. At one point, the service was so poor and slow that one of our friends called the restaurant from the table on her cell phone and asked for the manager. She explained we were there dining and then 15 minutes later the manager finally took her call. From that point on, service improved but it was too little too late by then! The food finally came out. 2 dishes were returned because they were cold. They were replaced. On top of all this due to the size of our party, they still received 18% tip because it was automatically added! We weren’t fans of Saltgrass in the past and needless to say, we won’t be going back anytime soon.... very disappointing in the attitude of the servers and overall...
