If you are looking for the Ritz you are in the wrong place. If you are "Down to Earth" and understand that you can't have it all without paying a ridiculous amount for it, then this place just might be Perfect. I did my homework before booking here and was fully aware of what to expect for the most part. This is a HONEST review....First and most obvious is that this little place is in the perfect spot right on the Broadwalk in Hollywood Beach Fl, (LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION) walk about 10 ft across the Broadwalk and your feet are in the sand. Walk down the Broadwalk to your right, immediately and you'll hit shops, restaurants, bars, icecream shops, and places to rent bikes and other equipment which seems to be popular here. The view (depending on where your room is) (I know 11 & 12 are great) Is all palm trees, sand and surf...maybe a little bit of the Broadwalk. ...Ohh and yes, this one is called a Broadwalk not Boardwalk....The building itself is old and redone a bit. Painted over walls and doors sealed shut etc..Like a small apartment, full kitchen, dining room, etc. Free Wifi and parking spot, Nice little patio area and grill with tables and chairs, My air conditioner worked great (that was important to me) and the area felt pretty safe. My 16 and 12 year old rented bikes and went off on their own up and down the Broadwalk. Inside Cleanliness of the room was clean in the sense of it looked clean and I was comfortable...def been in worse. I DID NOT see 1 bug while there (as I read in some other reviews). Yes there were some cracked tile etc...but really??? the only things that bothered me the slightest were that the floors looked clean but when I walked around in my socks and later bare feet, they turned black...(no carpet...just tile) I imagine it is difficult to keep the floor clean there as the beach and sand is right outside the door but that does not change the fact that I was constantly having to wash my feet every time I felt like putting them up on the bed to relax. The other things was the dishes. Even though I thought it was wonderful that the kitchen was pretty well stocked with dishes etc...for me to use..There was a note in there saying how they clean and sanitize them regular or something and the dishes along with that little laminated note were pretty dirty...but again luckily there was dish soap and other items there and I am not against doing a little work, besides I prob would have washed them again myself anyways. Elvis the guy that runs the place was very nice. He took the time to tell us a bit about the area, what food was good etc. He gave us some coffee to go with the coffee machine in the room when my husband asked where he could get some. He also directed us to closet/shed outside with little beach chairs, floaties, boogie boards, sand pails and shovels etc, saying they are always left behind and that we could use them whenever we want. That really came in handy because who travels with that stuff, we would have ended up doing the same, just buying and leaving there. Al 4 of us took showers after our beach day and the hot water lasted. The place was beautiful and pretty quiet at night. The price I paid for this room for 2 nights during their peak season was very reasonable, believe me...I did my research. Even though I would never pay that price for a room like this in town somewhere, the fact that it was right on the beach, everything was within walking distance, people were nice, view was amazing, breathtaking, etc....I feel like I got a steal. Like I said Honest review, different things are important to different people. Hopefully, you love this place as much as I did. I will definitely book here next...
Read moreFirst, we were placed in the wrong room at the wrong location. We booked a deluxe king room that was supposed to have a kitchenette at the Oceanfront location but were sent to a king room with no kitchen in another hotel called Ocean Villas. The room smelled like urine and was obviously less than what we paid for. When asked to be refunded the difference for the night, we were refused due to the rates being higher now than they were at the time we booked which was in January or February. We were not the only ones this happened to that day, we overheard someone else complaining of being put in the wrong room when we arrived.
When we were placed in our actual room, it was just purely nasty. Stains on the sheets and lamp shades, a layer of dust on the window sill, and food particles on the dishes. Also, no toaster, not a big deal but was included in amenities. You could tell that the place is only quickly swept and mopped and commonly used surfaces wiped off. There was a line of sand just behind the bed skirt where whoever was responsible for cleaning the room was much less than thorough.
Our final complaint deals with the fact that this place is infested with roaches. I watched them come out from under the bed and out of the bathroom and got up to kill them as we tried to go to sleep. I didn’t sleep well..
I admit, it is my fault for only reading the reviews left on the booking site we used instead of everywhere else because this is not the first (and probably not the last) review complaining of roaches and other forms of nastiness at this place. They go back months.
The staff was friendly enough but careless. They did not care which room their guests were placed in as long as the guests didn’t complain. If they did care, they wouldn’t be putting people in the wrong rooms so often.
The only good things about this place is the location and that there were no signs of bedbugs. I will never stay here again and probably won’t be back to Hollywood for a very long time, either. Thank you for teaching me a lesson about reading every...
Read moreDisappointing Experience: False Advertising at Hollywood Beach Hotels and Paradise Oceanfront Hotel
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Paradise Ocean Hotel, and I must say it was far from what I expected. The online pictures showcased spacious and elegant rooms with beautiful views, but the reality was a complete disappointment. The room I received was akin to a closet in terms of size, and the stark contrast between the online images and the actual room left me utterly dismayed.
The entrance was in the back alley of the hotel. Upon entering the room, it became clear that the hotel had engaged in deceptive advertising. The space was cramped and the window was so small and facing the back alley of the next building that the lack of natural light created a gloomy atmosphere. The outdated appliances and worn out toilet added to the overall unpleasant ambiance.
The service at the hotel was also subpar. The staff seemed disinterested and indifferent to guest concerns. When I checked in and after my card was charged in full they tell me that the room did not have a view even though I showed the person the pictures of the rooms online and the room which I booked. When I attempted to address the disparity between the advertised room and the reality, I was met with dismissive responses and a complete lack of accountability.
Considering the inflated price I paid (because it was a holiday weekend) which was well over what they typically charge for this disappointing experience, I cannot stress enough how much I regret choosing Paradise Oceanfront Hotel and Hollywood Beach Hotels. It is evident that they prioritize misleading marketing tactics over delivering on their promises. I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay at this establishment to think twice and explore...
