Take note right away that they are now charging an 18% mandatory gratuity to all charges. You are not notified of this until your bill arrives. This is ridiculous as it is no longer a gratuity but a dinner tax. Gratuities are a diners discretion based upon quality of service. No one automatically deserves a tip.

Now to the rest.

We were greeted with a friendly server who recommended items at our request. We started with the calamari, a usual for us as it's a favorite. The portion was good-sized, and it came with some thin based sauce. We asked for tartar sauce instead. After some time, the server came back and said she had forgotten. A time later, another friendly person asked us what we needed, and we requested again.

In the meantime, Diane ordered the Mahi fingers appetizer for her meal, and I had the seafood salad sandwich.

When the meal arrived, we once again requested tarter sauce for the calamari that we had eaten about half of while waiting. She then quickly returned, but by now, the calamari was cold.

The calamari itself was ok. Crisp at first and the circles were tender enough but without any flavor. We tried adding salt and pepper but to no avail. The leg portions were tough.

Diane's Mahi fingers were dry and tough. Once again, no flavor.

My seafood salad was plentiful, but once again, no flavor. The French fries were really good. The best thing we had.

11/3/23 nicks manager terrible-Decided to take my family to nicks on Hollywood beach everything was ok to my husband and I decided to go out side to enjoy the breath was windy no one was outside because was raining a bit but felt good .my husband sat on the table out side he was just hugging me suddenly this pit-bull disrespectful women came to my husband screaming get off the table this is my restaurant get off the f….. table we have never ever on years going to nicks been so disrespected this animal pitbull went to the cops who knows what she said to them made cops come to my husband and had us leave I had to leave my family there unbelievable that’s crazy that’s not how a manager should be this manager is horrible I been at nicks for years and if any one been there there are crackheads people playing music interrupting the bars dj people doing drugs in the beach and she was bothered and call the cops for sitting outside remind you no one was sitting no customers no one empty outside and she has the balls to not even say excuse me terrible manager not to mention $$$$$$$ all the money we spend at this place did I mention we know the dj did I mention who I am no need I will take care of that it’s sad nicks you loosing main customers today and I will not stop here she said she was the owner lol ok I will spect an apology or else I will appreciate the real owner to answer to us why you have this individual as your manager no bueno I will tell all people I know not to go there and trust me you will...

I had the unfortunate experience of dining at Nicks Bar & Grill and it pains me to say that the service fell far below expectations. The cascade of mishaps throughout my meal culminated in a profoundly disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. My order for a BBQ burger was inaccurately fulfilled with a simple cheeseburger, setting a disappointing tone for the remainder of the meal. The oysters I received were marred by an abundance of sand, significantly detracting from their quality. As I began to enjoy a salad, my disappointment was compounded by the discovery of a hair at the bottom of the dish. This unappetizing find was met with a lackluster apology from the waiter, leaving me hoping for a replacement salad or a gesture to make amends. Regrettably, when the check arrived, the situation did not improve. The waiter brought check without the service charge ,the salad that I could not consume remained on the bill, a stark reminder of the lack of concern for customer satisfaction. To my dismay, upon review, I discovered that the revised check had quietly reinstated the service charge without my knowledge or consent. These successive errors in order accuracy, food quality, hygiene, customer service, and billing transparency left me profoundly disappointed and dissatisfied with the overall experience at Nicks Bar & Grill .
