All in all, a solidly 4.5-star review for the place for us, with a 5-star review of the management. This is a great condo/apartment rental in downtown Waikiki. They have most everything you could want, including a stove and a surprising amount of space for Waikiki. Views of mostly downtown Waikiki are beautiful at all times, and the sunset was amazing from the 17th floor. The chairs for the beach and various parks was a nice touch. Check in and out was seamless. Its AC knocked down the humidity, and the memory foam bed was comfy (although be prepared- the tradeoff is that they sleep hot). It was literally one block from Marugame Udon, and the rest of downtown. There are pros and cons to this: you're within walking distance to anything and everything you could imagine: multiple grocery stores, restaurants, beaches, etc., etc. However, Waikiki night life can be especially loud (clubs, cruising cars, people) and an early bedtime can be difficult. Unfortunately, we were a bit confused as we booked this through a hotel reservation system and were surprised to find it was an apartment/condo. As a condo place, it's a bit difficult to compare it to the hotel star rating system, but it's most comparable to a 3-star hotel. Some things are much better, which you can't get even at a 5-star hotel in Waikiki: included parking, a stove, a kitchen, and a full fridge. But some hotel amenities simply aren't available at any condo rental: onsite concierge staff, bellhops, linen service, etc. However, the managers and offsite staff do their best to make up for it and help however they can. Their activity suggestions are on-point. When we forgot to drop off our key (totally boneheaded move on my part, definitely don't do this), they came and picked it up from us, so we wouldn't...
Read moreWe booked 10 nights in the Ali'i Studio (Room 1907) and are really pleased with the experience! Our main criteria were: ocean view, lanai, kitchenette, free parking, and laundry available. This property met all the criteria, and we felt like the price was excellent. It also had an A/C unit, which really helped. While it's not oceanfront, you can see Waikiki Beach AND the mountains from the lanai. Also, there are balconies on two sides of the building that provide additional views. The laundry room was very convenient with minimal cost. It's a 5-minute walk to Duke's and Waikiki Beach, as well as numerous restaurant options for delivery, takeout, and dine-in. The building is secure, and we always felt safe there. It's perfect for solo travelers, couples, or small families.||||Tom was responsive and helpful before and during our stay. We definitely recommend this place and will stay here again if we're lucky enough to come back to Oahu!||||Tip for travelers who have a rental car:||Google Maps took us to the entrance of the parking garage on , which is NOT what you need at first. You must briefly park at the entrance of the building on Seaside Ave, go in to the lobby, and get your room key from the small post office area. It's on the right side down the hall as you walk in the front door. We arrived after hours, so a security guard let us in to the lobby and showed us where the post...
Read moreThe room was spacious and ready by the promised time and the staff really made an effort to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The air conditioning worked well. The location was very walkable and convenient, very close to several nice beaches, restaurants, and shops. The pool was also a great amenity to enjoy during our downtime as well. The private lanai was nice to take in the views and enjoy a drink or breakfast. We were also able to see some fireworks one night from there.
Parking was free, easy, and convenient once we figured out how it worked the first time. This was actually one of the main reasons I chose to stay here since most places in Waikiki seem to charge for parking. It was pouring down rain when we arrived and we had to temporarily park in the loading zone in the street to retrieve the key fob from the mailbox in the lobby of the building. We were initially confused about the location of the assigned parking spot because the entrance on the other side of the building only contained the basement and first floor parking and we actually had to pull around again to the front of the building again to access the 2nd floor parking (which requires the key fob). The check-in guide is helpful for understanding this.
We would definitely stay here again if we ever find ourselves in...
