Heavenly Island Lifestyle is a great place to go to get a well prepared, Hawaiian flavored breakfast. We stopped in towards the end of our week in Waikiki...it's located in the Shoreline Hotel (which also looked pretty boutique-y cool.) There was a short line to be seated (quite a difference from the VERY long waits at other popular breakfast places in town.) But the shorter wait was not an indication of lesser quality food. (It was a bit windy at the outside seating so we chose to wait a little longer to be seated inside.)
The Maui Brewed coffee was pretty good, especially with the sweet breakfast I get which accentuated the flavor of the coffee.
That sweet breakfast was the Hawaiian Fruits French Toast...there's something unique about the look and flavor of French Toast in Hawaii and this is a rally good place to get it...made with sweet Hawaiian bread and a few different variations to try. The fruit on it was fresh, the dish as beautiful, and I loved it.
Our 12 year old got the Chocolate Banana French Toast which he declared to be the "best French Toast he'd ever had." (I personally liked the Hawaiian Fruits better, but choosing chocolate over fruit is a completely understandable decision by a 12 year old.)
He also had a lemonade which was clearly freshly squeezed...I mean lemons in the back, mix in the water, sugar and ice...not out of a soda fountain or anything ridiculous like that.)
My wife got the Heavenly's Island Veggie where you get to choose between breakfast salad sets and get a fresh squeezed juice. She had Kale and Quinoa with Ginger Dressing, a mini acai bowl, and what seemed like a carrot orange juice. It was a perfect rainbow meal for her. (Actually the juice was not her favorite flavor, but it was definitely fresh squeezed and everything they brought her was beautiful and fresh.) Also they were nice enough to sub soup for the taro muffin it normally came with which satisfied her gluten-free needs.
There's plenty to choose from for breakfast for vegetarians, and everything is sourced locally from the Islands, and organic when possible.
Considering the long wait times at other places, this is a great find with top notch and beautiful food, right in the...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Heavenly Island Lifestyle Waikiki during our first trip to Honolulu, and it turned out to be a truly delightful experience. From the moment we stepped in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a memorable Morning!
Our exceptional experience was further enhanced by the outstanding service we received from Bruce, who went above and beyond to make our visit special. Bruce took the time to explain the intricacies of their Acai Bowl, providing insights into the fresh and wholesome ingredients that make it a standout dish. His knowledge and enthusiasm added an extra layer of appreciation to our meal.
What truly impressed us was Bruce’s kindness and flexibility when we expressed our interest in the Big Island Guava Bread Rainbow Sandwich, a limited-edition item on the menu. As a vegetarian, I was eager to try this unique creation without the chicken component. Bruce not only accommodated our request but also ensured that the modified sandwich retained its deliciousness. The combination of guava bread, red cabbage, carrot, Maui onion dressing, basil paste, tomato, avocado, sprout lettuce, and mustard mayo created a burst of flavors that left us wanting more.
I believe that offering a vegetarian version of this sandwich would be a fantastic addition to the menu, attracting even more patrons to Heavenly Island Lifestyle Waikiki. Bruce’s attentiveness to our dietary preferences exemplified the restaurant's commitment to providing a personalized and enjoyable dining experience for all.
Overall, our visit to Heavenly Island Lifestyle Waikiki was made memorable by the exceptional service of Bruce, the delectable cuisine, and the inviting ambiance. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu, confident that the team's dedication to customer satisfaction will continue to make every visit special. Thanks to Bruce and the entire staff for creating a wonderful memory for us , Mahalo Bruce!!! , You are a...
Read moreThis is my first time writing a negative review, but I felt compelled to share my experience. Honestly, this place doesn’t even deserve two stars. I only gave two because the interior is somewhat trendy. That said, the floors were dirty, and so were the sofas, which immediately made the atmosphere feel unclean.
When we arrived, I put our name down, and the hostess, who was extremely rude, took our phone number and told us there would be a 25-minute wait. This is when we specifically told her that we would like a table with a view. We stepped outside, but never received a text. When we returned to check, I found out she had written the wrong number. Mistakes happen, but how she proceeded to behave was unnecessarily.
Despite our request for a table with a view, she seated us at the worst table in the restaurant. It was a small booth clearly meant for two people, even though there were three of us (me and my two children). Several large tables were open, including many with a view, and the restaurant was far from busy. When I politely asked if we could move, she became visibly annoyed and told us in a passive-aggressive tone to wait outside for another five minutes. There was absolutely no reason we couldn’t have waited at the bar or been seated right away, considering how empty the place was. Her attitude was shockingly unprofessional for someone in a hospitality role.
As for the food, it was just as disappointing. The bánh mì bread was stale, and the tacos were messy and poorly assembled. Our server seemed completely out of it, almost like he was high. We had to ask three times just to get cream and sugar for our coffee.
Overall, this was a frustrating and unpleasant experience from start to finish. Between the poor service, below-average food, and lack of basic courtesy, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially if you expect even a minimum level of...
