Looking for something grab & go but is actually filling, healthy and most of all fresh?! Then this is it. Conveniently located besides Ross, there's plenty street parking as well as a parking structure shared with other businesses. Kai Poke offers a "create your own" poke bowl with plenty of choices and they give you the right amount of servings. They also offer açaí bowls and "Kai Chef Specials" if you aren't sure of what to choose.
Since I don't eat raw (I know I know Boo!) I was able to "create my own bowl" by choosing Kai Rice, Garlic Shrimp, Ginger, Crab Mayo and Miso Soup! I can't get enough of their Kai Rice, I'm not sure if its the garlic or the sesame oil but it just really elevated the flavors of my bowl although I only have a few toppings.
DO NOT forget to get their Pineapple Iced Tea! It comes with pineapple chunks (that I will surely copy at home). They also sell some resin/epoxy wave ocean artworks that is the same as their table. (Talk about those instagram food photos)--- and those table costs $800 each.
Thank you so much for the efficient staff that keeps the line going. The chef came out and greeted us as well.
Will definitely be a regular customer when I'm...
Read moreI’ve lived in Hawaii for years and eaten more poke than I’d like to admit — and this spot definitely earns a place on the favorites list. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and most importantly, they don’t skimp on portions (finally, a poke bowl that doesn’t leave you hungry 30 minutes later).
If you’re indecisive like me, just go for the Lemon Soy Salmon and the Spicy Mayo Salmon. The lemon soy is light and zesty, kinda like a vacation for your mouth. The spicy mayo has that perfect creamy heat — not too much, just enough to make you say “okay yeah, I need another bite.”
And for Waikiki? The prices are surprisingly chill. You’d expect tourist trap prices, but it’s actually a great deal considering the quality and amount you get.
The vibe’s clean, the staff is friendly, and you can tell they actually care about what they’re serving — which, honestly, is rare enough to appreciate these days.
TL;DR: good food, good price, good...
Read moreI would give them 0 star if I could. Price is expensive (which is expect for Waikiki so I’m not typically mad about that) but quality ? Was awful. If it’s gonna be expensive at least make quality good. Customer service ? AWFUL. I asked few questions and she just scuffed at me & rolled her eyes. Also they had “sushi rice” option it’s not even sushi rice. I’m half Japanese and I’m from Japan I would know by second if it’s regular rice or sushi rice. The “sushi rice” I ordered was definitely just regular white rice which irritated me too because I noticed rice was hot and sushi rice isn’t suppose to be hot. They charge you for smallest dumbest things ever. Overall i would go other place maybe across the street in Waikiki plaza who’s owned by Japanese where they won’t lie about sushi rice, better quality and better...
