I've never been to an establishment where the owner persistently try to persuade people on how to order their food. My wife was looking over the menu as I ordered the berry/ice cream/waffle. I requested the ice cream/berries to be on the side. (This is a personal preference, as I explained to the owner that I do not like the possibility of a soggy waffle due to the toppings) The owner took offense to the request & said, "My business is directed more towards waffles w/toppings. If you are looking for a plain waffle then I don't recommend eating here." I then said, "Well I like waffles, berries, & ice-cream, I just don't like my waffles smothered & every bite tasting the same. Nor do I want to risk having soggy waffles." He sighed & gasped saying, "Okay, I guess we can make it that way." After taking my order, he then shifted his attention to my wife. She requested the same exact order. The owner then asked my wife, "Can we make it the way it comes on the menu?" She replied, "No, I want mine exactly like my husband's." The owner sighed & gasped again. At this point, it really rubbed my wife & I the wrong way. Instead of leaving, we decided to give his unprofessionalism a pass, after all, we are in Hawaii. The food is nothing special, nor is the coffee. We should've taken our $50 order to another establishment with great customer service. If he treats his customers this way, I can only imagine how he is towards the employees. Speaking of employees, the guy walking around cleaning tables while wiping his sweat with his hands is very unsanitary. He should not be handing out utensils without washing his hands. At one point, a young girl dropped her fork. The same sweaty employee picked the fork up & gave the girl a clean fork with the same hand he picked the fork up with. (Very gross!) We should've followed our gut instinct & left. We will never come back to this place. I'll be sure to spread the word throughout the island since I am...

I'm new to Honolulu and came across Waffle and Berry when I was checking out what was in the neighborhood. 800+ reviews+ 5 stars = game on.

W/B is located on the second floor of the Ohana Hale building (stairs and elevator). At the top of the staircase, there's a little merch area and the food counter is to the left of it. The staff will provide menus, ask you to seat yourself, and request you return to the counter when you're ready to order.

Seating is an open air patio with about 2/3 outdoor and the remaining 1/3 along the perimeter. Everything here is single use so - the server will bring you your first cups of water - any refills afterwards, you go to the water dispenser; you'll also get your silverware and napkins at this point.

So the food. You can tell from all the pics and reviews that the presentation is excellent but the food was equally delicious - fruits were sweet and fresh, waffles were nice and crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I'm not a pancakes/waffles for breakfast person (because I like my meats) but I thought the food was delicious.

If you're the type who loves the dessert/breakfast wrapped into one, I imagine this place will seem like heaven. My daughter and I both ordered the Berries and Cream (two waffles topped with strawberries/blueberries + 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream). I was worried about the ice cream because I saw a potential disaster occurring - warm weather, paper plate, soggy food - but the ice cream held until the end.

If you're a light eater, I wouldn't get the full order. If you're a normal eater and order the full-sized, you'll start feeling full about 3/4 of the way through. If you're a power eater, order two.

Waffle and Berry is definitely a must-try - convenient location, good food, nice atmosphere. This will now be on my breakfast rotation whenever I have...

A MUST VISIT!! My partner and I first visited Waffle and Berry in 2023 while in the Waikiki area and LOVED IT. We've been dreaming of the Kireirna Hana ever since and made this one of our first stops during our most recent visit to Waikiki.

Here are the highlights:

  1. You will dream about these waffles for years. The waffles are perfectly cooked and topped with the freshest fruits (strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, and more), soft and creamy ice cream (we got vanilla and acai), and what tastes to be homemade whipped cream -- truly a dream
  2. The staff offers the warmest aloha welcome you will find in Waikiki. On our recent visit, we were greeted by Erin and Cal who made us feel like we were enjoying a meal in someone's home -- so kind, warm, welcoming, and excited to welcome eat guest.
  3. Toppings bar - this is a great added bonus! Once you get your dish, you can top it with coconut, granola, cocoa nibs, honey, and more! Love this!!
  4. You can't beat the price -- amazing value for the price. The waffles are loaded!!
  5. great coffee!

As I am sure is the case with most visitors, we come for the great good and stay for the amazing staff. Again, Waffle and Berry is a just visit! We'll be returning at least once more before we...
