I give this place one star because the food is actually pretty good. But, there was one person at this establishment that made the whole experience NOT worth a dime. I wish we would have walked out as soon as we got there... here's what happened: I went with my fiance after a long day exploring the island (Nov 12, 2022); My fiance used to live in the area, and thought we should try this spot. When we arrived, a Caucasian lady that looked pale and tired... with dark hair & wearing a blue shirt, sat us at the bar. The bar was still dirty and she had to hurry up and clean it. While she was wiping the table down, my fiancee asked her if we could have any of the other tables that were open- they were already clean, & more spacious. There were 3 tables open with a better location & view of the main road. She told us that those tables were for reservations, & that people were coming shortly. After about an hour of us hanging out and ordering appetizers, those so called "reservations" never arrived. My fiance got up asked her about it, and she had no explanation. he said she just apologized. an apology? We didn't want an apology, we wanted a better table... about 45 minutes later after we completed our meal, there were 6 tables open & the restaurant slowed down. clearly no reservations! We spent well over $300 here, & it would have been more if we had better seating! The guys at the bar were very helpful and polite. However, the Caucasian tired looking lady ruined the whole experience for us! We would have hung out longer and even ordered drinks had she given us more space to do so. I am a woman of color (from Brazil 🇧🇷) , and my fiance looks like a local, although he is Vietnamese. I think the lady thought we were poor? Or we did not deserve a good table? Because why not just give us a table? NO RESERVATIONS CAME IN 2 HOURS. When we left, I asked her about the reservations myself.. and all of a sudden her story changed to "we have to keep the tables open for potential guests." Were we not guests? So you need to keep 6 tables open at all times? Even as other guests leave? Makes no sense lady. I told her that she's a damn liar, as we left. & she responded with "have a great night!" so not only are you a liar & a biggot, you're also a gaslighter! horrible traits to have, in my opinion. especially in the hospitality service! it is so sad for restaurant workers to treat hard working paying customers this way. we came all the way from Washington DC to visit Hawaii & enjoy the culture & cuisine. It is not our fault that you chose to work at a restaurant Ms. Caucasian tired looking lady… maybe get some education and your life will flourish? Do not be hostile to others that come in and just want to have a good time!!! The Caucasian tired looking lady just gave negative vibes, and feelings that made us feel unwelcome. IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR OR IF YOU BELIEVE THAT ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE TREATED EQUAL, DO NOT GO HERE! & another thing... Hawaiian culture is about peace, love, & togetherness... not having a pale, lying tired looking lady on this beautiful soil- making the atmosphere a negative place. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!!! There are other wonderful places on the island, give those a...
Read moreFor $250+ for two adults and a child, I expected a far better dining experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant when there are so many better options in the area. While their drink menu was a highlight—creative and well-executed—the rest of the meal was a disappointment.
We started with the crab dip appetizer, which was a letdown. It barely had any crab, and the portion of bread provided was laughable. When we requested more bread, we were charged extra, which felt unreasonable given the small initial serving, and that should have been a sign of what was to come.
The main courses were even more problematic. My steak was so salty it could have been mistaken for ocean water from Waikiki Beach. My wife's steak, though slightly overcooked, was at least edible, so she decided to keep it. I, however, had to send mine back and request a new rare filet. The replacement took so long that my wife and son were done eating before my steak even arrived.
The side dishes, including the asparagus, mushrooms, and Caesar salads, were good, which was one of the few redeeming parts of the meal. My son enjoyed his mac and cheese and shrimp appetizer—nothing spectacular, but no complaints there.
Service, unfortunately, was lacking. I ordered a drink that never arrived, and after the steak mishap, we didn’t see our server again until it was time to clear the table. While they did offer a dessert to make up for the trouble, I declined, fearing more disappointment. They ultimately removed the sides from the bill as compensation, but that didn’t address the real issue: my steak was poorly prepared, and the service left much to be desired. Probably should have done more, but they didnt...so here we are.
If you're looking to spend $250+ on a meal in Waikiki, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. While Aloha Steak Waikiki has potential with its drinks and sides, the inconsistent food quality and subpar service make it hard to...

Another host came and he assigned me a table. At least 3 servers passed by until I said, “excuse me, can you please send someone over so that I can order?” My server seemed nice enough and answered a few questions. But, I had to ask two people with the water pitchers to finally get a glass (weird).
I ordered a martini, expecting my meal within about 20 minutes as per usual. However, 45 minutes later, Just before 8 o’clock and a couple of martinis later, my Caesar salad finally arrived. Uneventful, nothing special, not even anchovies. And, they don’t offer bread.
I inquired about the protein portion of my meal and sides.
The server returns to tell me probably ANOTHER 15 minutes or so. When I responded with shock, the server attempted to explain that “bone-in takes longer to cook”. I chuckled, told him that I’m over 50 years old, a wife and mother who cooks - everyone knows how fast a steak cooks! And additionally, I pointed out three other tables who were seated and ordered at the same time or after me, but were enjoying their food.
I asked for the check, I said to cancel the other food and I wanted to leave. The chef “CJ” came to speak to me, then mentioned the “bone-in” cook time as well. I showed him my parking ticket which listed the time of my arrival just before 7 and repeated that a restaurant with open tables does not take an hour to bring a meal. He conceded with silence.
CJ apologized, asked if I wanted to wait and he would “rush” in the kitchen himself. I declined and let him know I was no longer hungry, I was upset and I just wanted to leave. He handed me the check to pay for my drinks and salad. No comp and no offer for discount of anything were I to return in the future. HORRENDOUS FOOD...
