My husband and I have shopped at this belk dozens of times and have always made a purchase. We went this afternoon to find a pair of golf pants. My husband found two pairs and we went to the area marked fitting room. There was no attendant and others in the dressing room trying on clothes. We waited for help and no help came. We went to an open room and were in there less than three minutes to try on his pants. He needed a longer length so we placed the pants on the hangers and hung them on the appropriate rack outside of the fitting rooms. We were stopped by an elderly employee while walking back to get the correct size in his pants. The lady asked us what we were doing in the fitting rooms. My husband and I were both a little confused but we told her that my husband tried on pants and we needed a different size. She then asked where the merchandise was and if we were really trying on clothes. I responded that there was not an attendant at the dressing rooms so we assumed we could go try on clothes and that the man she assumed I was having "relations" with was my husband. I also said she could check the cameras for time stamps if she wanted and that others could hear us talking about the golf pants my husband tried on because they were way too short. She became increasingly rude and demanded to know why we went in together. I responded that the pants he tried on were on the garment rack and we walked away and purchased the pair of pants in the size he needed. I am not sure what was more offensive - being accused of stealing or being accused of having relations that lasted three minutes in a Belk. Tell your employees to stay at their assigned posts and assist customers instead of following them and harassing them after the employee realizes they made a mistake. I'm assuming by her reaction she was not supposed to be away from the fitting area and that's why she was rude - either way not my problem.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to return something I had ordered online and I open the door from the street and there was a counter that said online sales so course I went there we stood in line for like 10 minutes patiently and waited are turn and I told her I had items that I had ordered online and needed to return I have my receipts and I have the items and I asked her if this was the right place and she told me well I was really supposed to take the items back to the department that I had bought them from now keep in mind I had bought them from different departments and I had at least four different departments represented there including her department so then that would probably be 5so I pointed out to her that I had shoes which were for her department and could she at least do thatshe rolled her eyes and said yes but said could I let her get the lady behind me first because all she had was a pair of shoes to get and actually tried to make me let the lady behind me go ahead of me cuz apparently that was less trouble for her so I told her no she could not do that well when I said that she proceeded to say oh well she was actually ahead of you I had already been helping her before but now she's just back and was actually trying to argue with me to the point I could go on and on but it just isn't worth it that little tidbit should be enough to show you why don't got one star and it just continued on from their humiliating embarrassing angering me just a terrible terrible experience I will not be going back to Belk in real person and that's why things are automated and that's why everybody orders online and that's why people do with their selves and that's why it's the end of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDon't buy shoes here!!! I got a pair of Uggs as a gift and they were the wrong size. When we went to exchange them for the correct size they had none of that size in stock. You'd think they'd just take the wrong size pair and order the correct size - nope!
Belks will not do an exchange for an online order! We had to get the original pair refunded and then make a separate payment for the order - a difficult process when you don't have the credit card used to pay for it originally since it was a gift.
So, after calling the gift giver to get their credit card info to do a refund, Belk gave us a cash refund. So, you'd think we'd be able to use that cash refund to purchase the order for the correct size? NOPE. BELK REFUSED TO TAKE CASH MONEY to order the shoes.
So, I literally had to walk around with hundreds of dollars of cash after using my own credit card to pay for an exchange of another order, all because of their nonsensical ordering policy.
This company has ridiculous policies that are incredibly frustrating for their customer. Buy from Amazon or some other online vendor that uses common sense and streamlined business practices.
My generous gift giver will never shop here again and neither will I.
After the fact, I discovered Belk's employees are paid on commission and don't even get paid a living wage. Don't support...
