Sneakers Sports Grille — Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach

I was not happy w/ my visit. I ordered the blackened Mahi sandwich & it was so chewy my jaw was tired after trying to eat the 1st bite. I had my mom try & it was the same thing. I have only returned food at a restaurant 1 time before in my entire life but I couldn’t eat this. She asked if I wanted anything else. I told her I would eat the fries & ordered a small cup of chili. I only ended up eating like 5 fries bcuz I really don’t like them either. I get the bulk & it is $8 for the 5 fries I ate. My mom ordered a burger & told the waitress, not rare but close to that, medium rare. It came back fully cooked. She told the lady about but said she would still eat it. She didn’t want to have 2 meals returned from 1 table but she was very u happy w/ her burger. She ordered an appetizer of gator tail which was delicious, but had mostly small pieces we couldn’t tell if it was just fried breading or gator. There were more small bits than gator chunks & it was $18! Then the waitress brings the bill (there are 3 separate bills) & she has the appetizer split between the 3. She didn’t ask us if we wanted that. My mom bought it & had to dig in her purse to find cash to give me & the other friend to cover our bills bcuz we were fed up & ready to go. Lastly, my mom gave a $50 bill & her meal was $24 & the lady brought back all ones. When my mom got home she realized some money had been missing & she didn’t get $25 ones. But between her not noticing then, paying us other cash for the app & leaving a tip she just had to let it go. The whole experience...

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat at the beaches with my family for a quick lunch. Now it's turned into a fiasco every time. I believe I got mad last time I had to pay to park in their parking lot... luckily I had cash that time I washed it up as an "one time deal". Yesterday my wife and I took our daughter here to get some macaroni & cheese (they have a cake that's amazing according to my wife), yet we weren't allowed to park at the restaurant without paying $5 to pull into the parking lot. All the public parking in the area was taken due to a festival going on across the lot. I explained to the gentleman at the gate that my wife and I were just going in to get lunch with our daughter, we would return to our car after eating and leave. Yet, he was insistent. So I told him I would go in and talk to the manager, which we had no luck with either. They did suggest however that I could use their ATM (that they make a fee on) to withdrawal money to pay the parking attendant and then they would "refund" me $5.00 of my bill. I even told him that if he waived my ATM fee (or reimbursed me) I would eat there. We were refused, and told it was the "owner's policy". Even the manager admitted that he didn't agree with this move yet there was nothing that he could do. We decided to go eat down at Sliders and were allowed free parking, friendly smiling staff, cold beer, good music and delicious food. We won't be returning...

I’m giving 3 stars ONLY because they were super busy for the Jags playoff game and I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it, but if I was to rate this experiance any other time it would be 1 at best. We sat at our table, and nobody came over for 20 minutes. We couldn’t even find a server to waive down which was very weird given it was packed for the playoffs. You would think tons of servers would be staffed. We finally saw someone and got her attention, she said she wasn’t our server, but would take our drink order. Drinks came about 15 minutes later. We put in food and that comes another 30 minutes later. Food was mediocre at best. Seemed as if it had been sitting in the window for awhile. It was not hot at all. Boneless wings were the best thing on the table. We had 10 regular wings, and the skin was soggy and just all around weird. We had 2 servers dealing with our table and they did not communicate with each other at all. All around it was a mess. We ordered a 2nd pitcher that didnt come until 30 minutes later when we were just trying to pay our bill and get out of there. I will say that this spot is a great place to watch any type of sporting event. The Projectors are HUGE and there is no lack of TVs in the place which is why I gave 3 stars. I was impressed by that.
