This is a modestly priced hotel with the basic ammenities covered. You truly get what you pay for and this is no exception; it is one of the cheapest hotels in the area and the service is about proportionate to that cost, which is to say, relatively poor.
In my experience the room service is virtually non-existent. Room service may come by and take your towels once a week. Also, the online adverts for rooms would like to have you believe that you get alongside the kitchenette, a full set of dishware. However, this is actually an additional cost on top of the base daily cost of the room, and is totally not worth it. Unless you are only staying for a couple of days and really don't want to deal with getting a small set of dishware from Wal-Mart (and potentially having to throw it out at the end of your trip if you don't have space for it at home), then just buying a starter set of dishes from Wal-Mart is definately the more cost-effective option.
You can also sometimes have some very aggravating issues with the door cards not working for any explicable reason. Not the biggest deal in the world, but fairly aggistating when it happens multiple times a week and you are coming back tired from working.
Also worthy of note, is the fact that the nearby Wal-mart (which was well within walking distance of the hotel) is out of business, so if you were looking forward to having a super market within walking distance that is no longer the case.
I have stayed here a total of four times and have had mixed success with this location.
The first time I got a room on the first floor for two weeks. This was the time by far that I had the most issues with the door card not reading. It happened around a total of three times in the second week of my stay. When I arrived in my room it had some pretty severe ant issues. I brought this up with the managment and room service and it took several days to get resolved. Otherwise, besides overall cleanliness of the room being an issue, there weren't many problems. I was working long hours so my hotel experience wasn't a priority.
The second time I got a room on the first floor for a week. This time my stay was much different. It was a slightly larger room and didn't have an ant infestation, which was an upgrade from last time. No major issues that time.
The third time the only issue was noise problems. There was a whole family apparently living in a tiny hotel room and had their dog, which barked all night long on some nights... not the end of the world but did mean that it was a bit more sleepless than usual for those nights.
The fourth and finial time I arrived at my room on the third floor, which smelled absolutely awful. The toilet also wasn't securely fastened to the floor. No any problems but overall the room seemed like it hadn't hardly ever been cleaned.
Overall, the cleanliness could be upgraded a bit and REALLY, really impact my opinion on this establishment. They could take the towels and bedsheets a little more frequently and provide general room service in a more timely manner, and this would be a whole different review. However, due to the fact that they practically never clean the bathroom, the rooms are rarely clean from the previous guest, and that the room service for issues like insect infestations isi painfully slow, my review remains as it is.
Overall, I can only reccommend this location to people who cannot afford other options, for those whom hotel experience is a low priority (like myself, since I was working long hours), or those looking to save as much money as possible, as it is, as previously stated) one of the cheapest options in the area. You truly get what you pay for, and you aren't paying a lot, so don't expect much with this...
Read moreI would never book here again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. I booked this place because it was cheap, had a kitchen, and allowed dogs. Since I was staying for a week and had my dog with me, I thought this would be perfect to save some money with the price and to be able to cook while I'm there instead of eating out everyday.
However, the room had no pots, no pans, and no silverware. What's the point of having a kitchen in my hotel room if I have to bring all the cookware??? The room was nasty. There were ants in the room. There was some woman hair in the bathroom, and it's not mine as I am a man. The bathroom sink would not drain properly. The desk looks like it's about to break, and the so-called "breakfast" is just coffee.
I told the person working the front desk, and they told me I should have said something and they would have switched my rooms. To me, that sounds like they were shifting the blame on me for my poor stay. I called the day I checked-in because I would be arriving earlier than check-in time. I wanted to verify if my room was available if I arrived early. I was assured that my room was ready. Once I saw the state of my "ready room", why would I expect any of the other rooms to be different???
I had an emergency and had to check out a day early. Could or would not give a refund or even a partial refund for the last night. OK, I guess as I originally was planning to stay that night anyways. However, when I asked about at least the pet charge being refunded for the night as it is charged per night the pet is there, I was told that the have to check with the manager, and it might not be refunded. I will call on Monday if I do not hear back from them.
Update: I was called back and was refunded for my final night. I prefer if this was done beforehand when I was checking out, but I think it was done in response to my review. I appreciate that it was taken care of. I updated my review from 1 to 2 stars and updated the service from 1 to 3 as they did refund me....
Read moreWe just returned home after a long weekend in Louisville over the last weekend in March/ first weekend in April. We had stayed here in the past and I thought it was kind of run down and had thought based on reviews that this location had been updated. That was not our opinion in this case. We came down with five people and booked two full-size beds with pull out sofa suites. Upon entry everything looked clean enough although outdated, the bathroom had hair and dust all over it. The sink and showers had such a slow drain that there was standing water for a few minutes. Every time someone finished showering or washing their hands. Upon a weekend. The first morning we had found two bed bugs on the pillow, we could not find any other evidence of bugs and they did have the mattress protectors to prevent it. However, we still saw the live bugs. We did go to a near department store and purchase an aerosol spray for the rest of our stay. Although we did not see anything else for the rest of our stay, it was still a concern. Hotel staff was nice enough and decent, but unless you're really on a budget I would advise staying somewhere else. I should also add that the parking lot is extremely tight and it is generally extremely full, half of the parking lot was blocked off through most of our stay for construction and we ended up parking on the grass as there isn't anywhere else near to park. Unless we see some major renovations and updates before next year, we are definitely not staying in this...
