Visited this BoomBozz location twice within the past two weeks and was treated poorly each time by a particular employee. On the first visit, the rude employee with dark hair/glasses was particularly cold when seating us but thankfully another server waited on us. Yesterday during our visit, we were seated by a kind server and waited for our actual server to wait on us. It was supposed to be the same rude dark haired employee from the prior week who did not speak to/greet us, but this week she refused to wait on our table. The greeter inquired about when the waitress was going to get our orders and I overheard her decline to wait on us as I walked to the bathroom. When I returned to my table my mother informed me that the server said she (rude, dark hair) was “too busy” to serve us and I asked our new server how busy could she (rude, dark hair) be as I noticed her over at the bar sipping mixed alcohol drinks especially in consideration of there only being one other customer in the restaurant besides my family. When the next customer walked in, the rude server happily went over to serve them with a smile but I can only deduce why she felt more inclined to serve them instead of our table. We are black, she and they are white hence the preferential treatment displayed on both occasions. We paid our bill and left knowing fully well that we will never return to this location. The owner was there the entire time and in close proximity during all conversations yet never redirected her employee or asked about our meal. Needless to say, she could have cared less about the quality of service and experience of the customers that keep those Balmain sneakers on her feet. It’s my decision to divest from this restaurant and to spend money where...
Read moreWas somewhat disappointed with their underhanded way of trying to get a higher tip from our group. I had gone into the restaurant a few days before and spoke to the manager. Told him we would have somewhere between 25 to 35 people in our group. He stated he would put it in the book and would waive any additional fees or gratuity. He stated he would just leave it up to each person to tip what they thought was good.
When people in our group started paying their bills, they found a 20% tip had already been applied to their bill. But, what really ticked a number of people off was the server didn't tell them a 20% tip had already been applied. So, when the bill was presented on the tableside payment terminal, it suggested another tip. This made a number people to think no tip had been applied yet. Our group was somewhat older, and I really feel like this was just a way of ripping us off. I spoke to the manager on duty, and she told me she didn't know anything about our arrangement with the other manager. She stated he only works one day a week. Sorry the managers don't talk to each other. Also, sorry the server didn't say a 20% tip had already been applied to your bill, but if you would like to give an additional tip it would be appreciated. This just isn't that type of place.
We will never darken their door again. And, my suggestion is to look over your bill very carefully before paying. It's apparent the management likes to play games here with other people's money. Maybe, now I understand why there was only five other customers in their restaurant while...
Read moreEditing previous review…Visited the Westport Rd location after someone reached out from Tony Boom Bozz and invited us back. This location is wonderful. Our server Autumn was AWESOME, patient, friendly and kind. The manager checked on us several times as well. The food was great. This time it was my birthday and we had a wonderful time. We will be back! - Previous review…I called for reservations at the Hurstbourne location for a large party and was told no problem but we would have to book the party room for 50.00. I called the day before our party to confirm. When we showed up they did not have anything set up, didn’t know we were coming, and lead us to an extremely dark “party room” where we were told we would have to push the tables together ourselves and that the lights went out that day. The manager proceeded to tell me they don’t take reservations and the 50.00 is to hold the room but they don’t set up anything for you. Not what I was told on the phone! We proceeded to have my child’s bday party in an uncomfortable, dark and quiet room. The server was AWFUL and the food was mediocre. The Server literally took the appetizer I was still eating. Manager didn’t charge us the room fee and gave us a 25.00 gift card for the inconvenience. It was not enough to cover our trouble. I was SO EMBARRASSED in front of my entire family and it came very close to ruining my child’s bday. We will NEVER EVER be back. It’s a shame because I work close by and send people over there all the time....
