Update #2 Unfortunately, the service and food has taken a turn for the worse. Not only did our order get delayed for almost an hour, but we suspect it was because either our order was forgotten, or was deprioritized for another couple of tables orders for dishes that take longer than ours to prepare and whom ordered significantly after we did. To make matters worse, they didn't own up to the delay in a way that was genuine, merely saying they got busy when it was clear that several tables that had ordered after us had already gotten their food. Still even worse, they then rushed our order, and my dish was served watery as it didn't have the proper time to thicken, and our Naan was undercooked. It was bad enough that if we weren't pressed for time due to the delayed food, we would have sent the food back. We didn't feel like valued guests, the experience didn't live up to past experiences or the previous reviews, and they didn't seem to care. My rating now reflects this. Update: A year later Shalimar is still my favorite, all of my previous review is still true. If anything they have gotten even better! My current favorite dish is the chicken 65, though the Korma is also quite good. My fiance loves the saag and the chili paneer. We both enjoy a mango lassi afterward. The service is still probably the best I've had at ANY restaurant, it is truly exemplary. I really enjoy Indian food, and in the past, other restaurants have been my first choice. After today's visit to Shalimar, it has become my first choice for delicious Indian food. Not only was the food top notch, but the service was impeccable! The attention to detail and attentiveness was noticably good without being smothering. Also impressive was the atmosphere, perfect for a date...
Read moreFrom the moment you step into this Indian restaurant, you’re welcomed by warm aromas, rich colors, and an inviting ambiance that promises an authentic culinary journey. The décor balances traditional Indian elegance with cozy, modern touches, making it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Let’s talk about the food—because it’s nothing short of exceptional!
We had both the lamb curry and the swordfish masala - both showstoppers. Each was tender, slow-cooked meat infused with deeply layered spices—each bite delivered the kind of warmth and complexity that makes Indian cuisine unforgettable. Pair it with their homemade traditional garlic naan, which is made to order and served piping hot, its edges perfectly crisp and the center delightfully chewy, infused with just the right amount of garlic.
Appetizer-wise, the paneer pakora is golden-fried perfection—crisp on the outside and soft, melty paneer on the inside. It’s the kind of starter that vanishes in minutes. To cool things down and balance the spice, the mango lassi is thick, creamy, and refreshing—a classic done just right.
Service is attentive without being intrusive. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to guide you through the menu, sharing recommendations or spice level adjustments as needed. Their pride in the cuisine shines through.
Whether you’re a seasoned fan of Indian food or a curious newcomer, this restaurant offers an authentic, flavor-packed experience that lingers long after the last bite. Trust me—this is a spot worth...
Read moreI ate here with my family after watching the new Aquaman Movie. I have to say I have some mixed feelings. I always look forward to eating at an Indian restaurant. Chicken Makhani (also known as butter chicken) is what I normally eat when I go to Indian restaurants as it is my favorite dish , but this experience was quite different. The chicken that came with the dinner was quite tough and even had either some really hard uneatable pieces or small pieces of bone (which is a first). not really part of a good meal. Also for the first time there were actual pieces of cashews and a few small raisins in the meal. Usually you dont find those items in a regular Chicken Makhani dish. I didnt mind the cashews to much as it is a base for the sauce, but the raisins inside made some bites to sweet. Also I asked for like the super spicy option, but there was not alot of heat from the meal. The only thing I can really say that I enjoyed out of the dish is the sauce. Overall my particular part of the meal was OK at best. My review of the meal would be 2 stars
Now I cannot say that the food was not good as my family had vegetarian dishes and they all enjoyed their food. This was just my experience with my meal. Personally for me it is hard to say if I will be back or not. Maybe I will have to try something different. Mango milkshakes can be a little thicker, but they were still...
