I have stayed at numerous Marriott locations including this one on multiple previous occasions. I will say the surroundings are more than amenable. The rooms and floors are comfortable. The location is safe well lit and feels secure. The bar is open and inviting .......
The piece that is missing has got to be in the mix of staff training, concise policies vs. employee empowerment, and the positive attitude or morale that comes from the purpose that is at the heart of offering "hospitality".
I stayed there recently during a conference as multiple times in the past. This was not a one time bad experience just a hands on bad experience that has happened repeatedly. When I have stayed as an individual I have had no problems but every time I stay in a block of rooms reserved for any size group the check in/checkout experience is notably different.
When I tried to ensure 5 rooms were reserved in a block of several dozen and confirm specific amenity notes had been entered correctly I was immediately told that nothing could be confirmed or annotated (even with confirmation numbers on hand) before noon (this was at 7:50AM with no lines and two clerks available) and under no circumstances would there be any check in before 3:00. That was all said as I smiled on the approach to the counter but before she uncrossed her arms and leaned toward the console. When I offered confirmation numbers I was told they were meaningless without a name. When I provided a name and a confirmation number all she could do was confirm that the name was entered in the days list of potential check ins. When I tried to enter a card for all the rooms billings I was told I could not. Once each tried to check in all were told if the card wasn't present that the room was reserved on they would have to use their personal cards. The only room billed to the card "on-file" was the room that remained vacant because of a non arrival which we couldn't cancel because it was without the 24 hours required advance notice.
So be aware that the discount applied to buying in blocks comes at the price of...

The overall hotel service was disappointing. We had a concierge lounge that was advertised to be stocked with breakfast and day snacks but when we showed up for breakfast, the fridge was empty and all that was available was little cereal boxes. We called the front desk from the area and asked if we could get milk for the cereal and they told us we'd have to come all the way to the front desk for it. Not a huge deal but took away the convenience of the lounge. That evening we stopped by to grab a snack/drink before bed and all the dirty dishes from breakfast were still on the table and nothing had been restocked.
The next day we tried the $15 breakfast downstairs and it was honestly one of the worst hotel breakfast spreads I've seen. The options were limited, the food was not good, and the girl serving us drinks brought us the wrong drinks. It just sucked. Not worth $15 at all. I ended up going next door to the expo and buying a meal with a drink for $8 and it was actually really, really good.
We stayed two nights but never had our room flipped. We had laid out towels on the floor to sop up the water from the shower and we returned that evening to cold, musty towels on the bathroom floor. Not a deal breaker but again, annoying.
Overall, I'd stay here again, I would just plan for breakfast off property and would not assume house keeping is...
Read moreAlthough this hotel is out of the way, it is beautiful. It has everything you need in one place. Thank God because the traffic in this area is horrible. I was going to visit the mall in the area but the traffic was so bad I went to turn around to go back to the hotel and found a very nice Tuesday Morning store very close and did my shopping there. There is a very nice onsite restaurant as well as a bar. There is also a little onsite convenience store with little things like snacks, alcohol and toiletries for purchase. The hotel is probably the nicest Marriott I've stayed in. It's so pretty and clean. This hotel is on the bourbon trail and is decorated with whiskey barrels and bourbon bottles, very classy. The check in was seamless and the front desk folks were very nice. The room was immaculate. The variety of toiletries was amazing. The complimentary little bottle of water was nice( there was also a larger bottle in the fridge but the cost was $3.50). The WIFI was free and easy to access. The beds were so comfortable! There was a self adjustable thermostat in the room as well as a coffee maker with coffee, a hair dyer and ironing board for use. The restaurant offers breakfast at an additional cost. I had to leave by 6:00 a.m. so I wasn't able to take advantage of it even though they offer room service starting at 6:00 a.m. I believe there is a fitness center and pool onsite but I didn't take advantage of those things. You will not be disappointed with this hotel, it's very nice other than the traffic...
