Center Court Key West — Hotel in Key West

I stayed at McCartney Manor with my wife for six nights and it was a mostly pleasant experience. The property is VERY small, but you really don't want to spend time indoors while vacationing in Key West. The accommodations are extremely well-maintained: granite countertops in kitchen, perfectly clean bathroom, clean tile floors, very comfortable bed, etc. It is basically a studio apartment. There is a half-sized fridge, sink, dishwasher and plenty of kitchen utensils, cups, bowls, etc. There is excellent internet and plenty of TV channels when you are in the room. There is good security to get into the property: a combo lock to enter the main property, another combo to enter the actual location and a third combo for the door to enter the room. ||The location is exceptional being 1/2 block off Duval and within walking distance of everything. There is a CVS across the street to grab what you might need for the room. We did take an Uber one time to the opposite side of Key West and it was $20. ||Two items to be aware of that are not the fault of the property, but are inconveniences:||1. If you have a vehicle the parking is IMPOSSIBLE. The street where this lodging is located is one-way and narrow with cars parked along both sides of the street. There is public parking somewhat nearby but it is very expensive - think big city rates. I was fortunate that my adult daughters were staying at the Doubletree so I gave them the car I drove down with and they kept it parked there. ||2. There are "wild" roosters and chickens that wander across much of Key West. Yes, the rooster are loud and make their noises very early in the morning just like on a farm. My wife and I were not thrilled to hear roosters at 6 or 7 am while spending a lot of money...

Allow me to 1st address the negatives as they’re the easiest… absolutely none!||We booked our October stay back in February. I had numerous occasions when I reached out to Naomi and at every turn she was lovely, informative, and kind.||The property is literally one block behind Duval Street.. exceptionally close to the action, yet one would never know because time at the property is incredibly peaceful.||The cottage is modern, well-decorated, and exceptionally clean. Everything worked like a charm, including the private hot tub on our deck. Great air conditioning, as well.||Daily housekeeping is completed by an obviously committed crew who are very thorough and do a fantastic job of keeping everything clean.||I should note… we arrived several hours before check-in as we transitioned from a different property to this one. Again, staff were phenomenal. They collected and safeguarded our luggage until check-in. They even provided us a place to change into our swimsuits. The adults only pool is lovely and has ample chairs. The family pool is equally nice with great seating, too.||It’s also very nice that they make their laundry facilities available to guests after housekeeping is done for the day.||There’s so much I could share about Center Court, the overall property, amenities, cleanliness, location, and more… but to close, I’ll say as annual visitors to Key West, we’ve found this property to be among our favorites. This is the first negative review I believe I’ve ever written. I was very disappointed with the owner and room. I booked the room for 4 nights and was incredibly unhappy with the water pressure in the room. The water pressure was such that it was nearly impossible to rinse the shampoo from my hair. I informed the owner, who was out of the country, of the situation and no improvement was made over the following 24 hours. During that time I had to shower outside by the pool which only was slightly better. I decided to check out the morning of day 3 due to the great inconvenience. I let the owner know I was leaving early on day 3 and requested to be reimbursed for at least 1 of the 2 remaining days (approximately $400). I never heard back from the owner but figured I’d give it a couple of weeks to allow her time to return from her vacation. I called her today and she declined any refund and near the end of the call she informed me that she was recording our phone call. Obviously, I will not be staying there again and I would have been incredibly embarrassed if I would have brought a date on this trip. No female would have been able to properly bathe in this room.
