Ocean Wellness Spa and Salon — Local services in Key West

I was going to refrain from doing a review but after much thought, I feel I wouldn't be doing the next customers any justice by keeping my experience to myself. I am very disappointed with our experience at this spa. I frequent spas all over the world and this one is way over priced for the experience you receive. I booked 90 min massages and basic facials for me and my husband, over $800 later!!!!!!! My husband wouldn't tell me how much the services cost until much later. When I contacted the spa I was told they could adjust the amount. (which never happened. I am a busy woman and was told to call and talk about it. I already contacted by phone, email and text. the amount could've been adjusted during any of those contacts). When you look at a basic facial on their site it stated $85. I am too busy to keep contacting them for them to make it right. On top of the overpricing, my massage was mainly done with one hand by my therapist, I am guessing the other hand was on her phone. You can tell when someone isn't concentrating on your body.... example...rubbing and pulling on my earlobe for a prolonged period of time with one hand, sometimes stopping but keeping hand on earlobe. The "spa" is a very tiny place so you can hear laughter, talking etc while trying to get relaxed. My husband loved his massage by Hilary. I own a skincare brand and take great pride in my skin, I rarely allow for facials etc but this time I did and regret it... the lady was great but my face broke out and now I am doing damage control on my end. Nice enough staff but total rip off. I got a massage by Island Massage and it was incredible. Not a fancy spa either but one of the best...

My boyfriend and I were visiting Key West and due to the weather we decided massages would be a nice way to get out of the rain. We were able to book massages the night before, which was nice they were able to accommodate that request. We arrived and filled out a simple form, the woman at the front desk was very nice. We both requested deep tissue massages and special attention to neck, shoulders, and back due to working desk jobs we are stiff. I get deep tissue massages very often and I have never experienced this bad of a massage. The woman who did my boyfriends massage, Hillary, was fantastic. He raved about her. However the other lady had the lightest touch I've ever felt and I asked for deeper pressure twice. She also spent most of the time stretching my arms, legs, and feet, as well as doing range of motion. After leaving I felt like I had some lotion rubbed all over my body and did some stretches, not like I had a deep tissue massage. On another note, she promptly packed up and left, I obviously was her last appointment and she seemed to be in a hurry. Maybe her hands were tired, or maybe she didn't care what I was looking for, however I paid a lot of money for the massage and left very disappointed. Only gave a 2 star because my boyfriends massage was great, I would have rated mine zero stars. Play it safe and book...

They are several massage and spa businesses in the KeyWest area specifically around Duval St- so it was bit challenging deciding who I wanted to invest my money and time in. I came across Ocean Wellness online and was met with a bright attitude willing to answer all my questions, while on the phone. Upon arrival, I was again greeted by a young lady with a great attitude and so accommodating. I got the package for facial and full body massage. Totally worth it. My facial tech was fully involved into my skin care and personalized my visit. (I think her name was Amille). It was so relaxing, I fell asleep several times throughout the massage. We both laughed about it! She stated, “No worries, I take that as a compliment”. I then realized how good she was- I’ve never been more relaxed before. I then moved on to my massage. Before moving to the next room, I was given a comfortable robe and slippers. Felt like a 👑. My massage tech was great as well. We talked about what I needed and wanted- she exceeded my expectations. The room was very tranquil and relaxing. The body oils were settle and smelt amazing. Of course, I fell asleep throughout the massage as well.
