I don't even know where to start in expressing how happy we were to stay at Old Town Manor. Old Town Manor is one of the best located places to stay in Key West. It is very properly maintained and the staff are absolutely incredible. They are easy to work with from making phone calls (with Alison) before we arrived to arrival, stay and departure. I can confidently say that this was the best place we have stayed at in Key West from the 3 different times we have visited.
Rooms - We stayed in the Sunset Room. The Sunset Room is great for couples. It is cozy and has 2 different patios. It feels like you are staying in a home. Very laid back. The rooms run on air condition units. Due to the white noise of the units, I slept like a baby each night. I recommend turning off energy efficiency at night and turning back on when you wake up.
Breakfast - With breakfast included, I thought for sure that it would be a mediocre breakfast selection. I was VERY impressed. The Belgian Waffles with Maple Syrup were addicting. I got that every morning. We had an option of eating downstairs in the courtyard area or eat in the room. The majority of the time, we had our food delivered to the room and they were very prompt on arrival. (We had forms to fill out at night to put on the door that indicated what we wanted to eat, time in the morning and if we were eating in the room or in the courtyard.)
Staff - Haytham checked us in. Awesome guy and answered a lot of questions that we had. We asked a lot about the history of the house because we thought that was cool. He also let us pet his dog that he had in the lobby (as well as feed treats to Doc, the Old Town Manor Cat). We also spoke to a gentleman that was new (I think his name was Cody? Might be wrong). He was incredibly friendly and we took up a lot of his time asking more questions about Key West.
Area/Vibe - The courtyard/backyard area is so nicely maintained and the gardens are beautiful. If we had friends with us, we can see us sitting in the back enjoying a drink. They have a bike rack so you can lock your bikes at night. The pool is located at the Rose Lane Villas, which we spent a day at. It is not a far walk from Old Town Manor and towels are in the Old Town Manor lobby. An Ice Machine is also located in the Old Town Manor Courtyard!
As I mentioned before, this was my favorite place to stay in Key West. Everything about it was incredible. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Key West....

Read moreMy boyfriend and I checked into this hotel because it had good reviews and wonderful pictures. It is really pricey, but we thought, for one night, let's enjoy a luxurious hotel.
Before we checked in, we were asked if we would like a parking space near the hotel. "Near" the hotel meant a 10-minute walk to a parking lot. But that's okay, I guess, because there aren't a lot of parking places in Key West.
But let's get straight to the point now. The room. We paid over $450 for one night for two people. And we got a room that smelled so bad that we got headaches. We thought the smell was incense sticks, but later we found out that it is just a very moldy scent. The windows are so old and not renovated, so you cannot open them! An old house like this without windows to get fresh air isn't acceptable, at least not for that price. But the smell was not the only shock.
In front of the toilet was a hole in the floor, most likely because the floor was moldy. We nearly fell into the toilet! On the wall above the shower was some pink stuff growing. No idea what that is.
And of course, we found hair from the previous guest on our "fresh" towels and bedding, as well as stains.
When my boyfriend tried to open the windows, the blinds fell on him, and nobody asked if he was okay.
The guy at the reception was really nice to us and changed our bedding, but that was the only nice experience at this hotel.
The next morning, we decided to try the nice breakfast everyone loved before we talked to the manager. The "nice" breakfast was a very limited selection of cold food. The bagels were cold on the inside, so we are pretty sure that they were frozen. The coffee tasted like water.
After a very unsatisfactory breakfast, we talked to the general manager. She refunded us about 50% of the money. But to be honest, $250 for the worst hotel we ever stayed in is still...
