Key west retreat We always enjoy renting a space that is larger than we need. This is a large 2/2 that gives a wonderful view of the water. Beautiful sunsets right off the balcony. It was updated and very clean. There are no staples in the kitchen except salt and pepper along with folgers in filter packs. We didn't rent a car and everything you need is accessible with lots of restaurant options. We did rent a golf cart for 24hrs mid-week and toured the island and went to the publix and bought a couple of days of meals to cook. We went to fausto's and cvs a couple of times as well for conveniences. Things to note: use the pool key to access the pool and the back gate to the waterfront. In order to get into the back gardens and walkway, you need to access the pool area through the garage or go into 115 to get outside to the back gate. The key on the ring with the fob will work on the truman access gate (one side) on caroline street. Our key didn't work on the other gates we tried. If you don't know about the back gate or the caroline gate key, you will have to walk the long way around through the southard entrance after 6pm. That is when the gates are closed. This was a bummer on day one because we hadn't figured out the key access. All said, i loved walking through truman annex. It is a pure oasis from the noise and crowds of the waterfront and duval. Our week was great and we will...
Read moreConvenient location. Pool not heated. Bummer. Too cold to use. Pool is up so high. There are steps with no railing. Extremely difficult to get in or out even if I could. Very dangerous for children. Almost no water pressure in the bathroom. We called and had a plumber come. She was there for almost 6 hours. Very old original work that had never been updated. For a shame! Rotted wood around the boat landing area. Neighbors warned us. It’s very dangerous. Never fixed! Dangerous for anybody. We enjoyed the house, but it’s sad that it’s so poorly overlooked. We did appreciate the young lady coming to clean the pool. Too bad we could never use it. I was swept up by the beautiful picture, but there’s a lot of of other realities to go with the house. No one ever comes to clean all the leaves and debris from the various trees. It’s a ton of work. That should be taken care of in the rent. The Vicasa people were excellent to deal with. When the gas grill tank ran out after two weeks they sent someone that day to replace it. They also sent a plumber the next day. She was from Patti’s and just excellent. We wondered why the owner was not on top of...
Read moreThis was my first time with both vacasa and vrbo, so i wasn't sure what to expect. I was here from oct 5th to december 20th. Previous reviews made it sound as though the place was run down. Let me assure prospective renters it most assuredly it is not! I needed a place to stay as a new government employee coming to key west to start at the naval air station. This residence was absolutely perfect for my needs! The size, location, and amenities worked great. The kitchen is well stocked, and both the couch and the bed are equally comfortable! There were some minor problems: one of the air conditioners went out a few days into my stay, and the wifi signal was shaky. But even in that, i would laud vacasa for their responsiveness in addressing the issue with the a/c--- they responded quickly and i was able to carry on as though nothing happened! The location is perfect to be able to walk to Duval street, and there are other services and shops readily available. To future renters: you could do much worse and not much better for the price! I especially wish to commend rob at vacasa for reaching out and working with me to make this an...
