Ideal location, on the lake and walking distance to downtown. I’ve stayed here a handful of times and each time I stay, the place is immaculate! The front desk is attentive and helpful. The stairwells, common areas, restrooms, any room I’ve stayed in, fitness center, and lobby are all pristine. The covered deck adjacent to the lake, is a great spot to relax and unwind. The breakfast area is clean. I hope they will purchase an additional cooking pot, because on biscuits and gravy days, they use the pot for gravy and they offer instant oatmeal. I’d really like to see a vat of oatmeal daily rather than instant packets. I’d also switch the cups to the left of the coffee pots because the flow could improve when people pour and prep their coffee. I was there for a three night stay and hoped I’d score some pre-made omelettes one day, but I only found powdery eggs. It’s a bit awkward that the serving utensils at the buffet are way over to the left of the serving dishes, but I’m not sure that they can push the chafing dishes back and allow room for the utensils and spoon rests. It seems like the chafing dishes were just installed too close to the edge - property owner or corporate, care to fix this? Any atrocities I saw were at the hands of guests. People who set their trash outside of their door rather than walk it to the trash cans, and one man handled the English muffins, but used tongs for the one he was going to eat, gee thanks. Anyhow, clean as a whistle, well stocked rooms, clean drinking fountains, and an overall bright spot when patronizing budget-friendly hotels. We happened to spend the Fourth of July here, and it was entirely heartwarming to see the diversity and multi-culturalism among the hotel guests, all congenially viewing the fireworks from the deck, ‘Mericuh! Housekeeping works very hard, because it is evident they do a great job and take pride in their work. The white linens are fresh, snowy-white and the beds are well made. I’d gently suggest that they double check for stagnant water in the irons. I had to clean out the smelly water, but this was the fault of the cad who stayed in the room prior to my stay. My highest compliments to the staff that make this property a great place to stay. It’s definite bright spot in Klamath Falls. Fantastic...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at the Fairfield for an entire week, while we visited with and helped my folks with various projects on their ranch in Plum Valley. This gave us a detailed, immersive experience with this hotel. It is EXCELLENT - far and away the best place to stay in Klamath (over the last 20 years, we've stayed in all of the "top" places there; and this was THE best). The rooms (we had two) were clean, and everything is (still) new. The beds are GREAT - perfect balance of supportive but soft/comfy; and the AC units function wonderfully - with the turn on and off not too jarring or noisy (a common plague in hotels at this level). Showers are GREAT - good water pressure, and nice new fixtures; with "high-end" sliding glass doors mounted on rollers (more common at lux hotels). Refrigerators were solid - as were microwaves (we used both a LOT). Nice back patio overlooking lake, with WONDERFUL evening sunset views (see photo). Addressing concerns noted by other reviewers: (1) this is NOT a sketch area AT ALL. I teach both armed and unarmed self-defense, and walking the lake walk path I never felt unsafe (we walked to the adjacent park every evening). And you're basically 2-3 blocks from downtown. (2) Noise: yes, the walls are fairly thin, but are NOT any thinner than any other local hotel (i.e., standard thickness for ALL hotels of this level). But perhaps THE biggest plus of all: the staff were just HUGELY courteous, helpful, and friendly. Made us feel so welcome, all week long! This is my new go-to place to stay; and I already have booked...
Read moreDuring my overnight stay, the heater malfunctioned in the night. We set it to 67 but instead, it continued heating the room, until the extreme heat woke my husband and I up. It was at least low 90 degrees when it woke us up around 3 AM. When we called the desk, we were given a room next door, so we had to pack all of our stuff up at 3 AM to move. The room was still heating up the next day, so much so that the clerk told me that the cleaner walked right out of the room and couldn’t clean due to the unbearable heat.
In the night, the front desk clerk offered us what I thought was a comp for the room. But when I went to check out, I learned it was actually only a $30 discount on our stay. I asked for a better discount or refund due to the health hazard and electrical hazard we had faced, as well as based on what the overnight clerk had offered us.
I was assured by the clerk that she would discuss with her manager and call me back promptly. Since then, I’ve called again and spoken to the same woman, who said again, that she would speak to her manager and call me back promptly. So far, I have yet to hear anything.
I am frustrated and disappointed with the way this issue was handled. A $30 “discount” is not an acceptable response to a serious health hazard and electrical issue, not to mention just the frustration of having to move all of our stuff at 3 AM. I do not recommend this hotel and will no longer stay at...
