We are owners here & have been coming to the Chalets for 20 years. We "own" a two bedroom & two bath Condo. This is a gated community. The Chalets have recently been updated inside & out & look very nice with new furniture & great beds. There is a King bed in the Master & a Double bed in the second bedroom w/bathroom across the hall. Both bathrooms have combo tubs & showers. Towels are furnished. The galley kitchen is adequate size complete w/everything you need (cutlery, utensils, dishes, pots & pans, BBQ equip, cleaning supplies, plus a dishwasher & fridge.) Full Size Washer & Dryer are off the dining room (w/table that seats 6) behind closed doors. The Livingroom has a large pull-out sofa/bed, two comfy chairs, wood-burning fireplace (only accessible during winter months) Outside the sliding door you'll find a large deck with picnic table & BBQ & sometimes a visiting raccoon or squirrels. Condo is heated but no A/C (standing fans are in each bedroom closet, plus overhead fans in bedrooms.) It usually is very pleasant. There is an outside pool, game room & private gate access to Lake Arrowhead which is a short drive/walk. They offer activities during the summer in the game room. The Chalets are close to the Village & Cedar Glen. The three bedroom Condos are two to three levels. There are carports for most Condo's and outside & guest parking throughout the community. Maid service is available on Wed or Thursday. Check-in periods are either Friday or Sunday. High Seasons are Summer and Winter. Unfortunately, I mark them at a four for these reasons; they do not have handicap accessibility (though they do have single stories in the two bedroom Condos...you just have to maneuver up stairs-ex: #138 has two flights out of the car port but is a single level inside) I also mark them down as they do not allow pets and little to no boarding available nearby. The Chalets are not the Ritz Carlton nor are they Motel 6. There are nicely decorated, comfortable, homey and clean. You will not be embarrassed inviting guests up. We never trade out because we love it here; we come up every year and, because they offer Bonus Time to Owners, we come up when we can. The Condo's also have permanent residents in some sections. The Chalet offices are in the Upper Level of the Village, close to Stater Bros. The Village has only a few shops as most businesses are empty as the landlords keep raising the rents to attract Outlet stores. To see hand-crafted art you need to visit Cedar Glen, Blue Jay or drive to Big Bear. There are some nice restaurants nearby & in Blue Jay. Bill's for home cooked food (breakfast-dinner), Cedar Glen Malt Shop for fun, Puglia (Italian,) The Grill at Antler Inn, Stone Creek Grill, Papagyos and of course, The Belgian Waffle Works and El Papagayos (mexican)in the Village and more. Read moreA little bit dated and for some reason the GPS led us to the wrong place- we arrived late so it's hard to find at night. Keep in mind if you come after hours the key is located in an electronic storage box at the main office in the Lake Arrowhead Village across from the Stader Brothers market. Some units have parking spots which are a short distance away which can be tough when it's snowing. However the accommodations were spacious and reasonably priced for...
