Visiting the Stater Bros. in Lake Arrowhead yesterday was an uplifting experience. WOW grocery shppping as a shot of adrenaline? There was something in the air like sunshine, and every employee who passed me smiled with a spoken greeting. They were exceptionally friendly whether working in the aisles or at the checkout stands. It was unusual when compared to some other supermarkets where employees are more in touch with each other than with customers. For thouse of us on strict budgets, there is something about the happiness and engagement, and interaction with customers at the Lake Arrowhead store that has impressed me enough to write about it. For example, Don'Ell, working fast at the checkout and I had a meeting of minds talking about the disappearance of "Uncle" Ben and "Aunt" Jemima on products (and characters we grew up with). Outside, as I was leaving and another "happy" courtesty clerk was assisting someone loading groceries into his car, I met Kaylynn, pushing carts back to the store who impressed me with her cheery attitude despite tie hot weather. I told her how pleasant it was to shop where the workers are happy, and she had only good things to say about the manager, so kudos to the manager of this particular store, Michal Dougherty, because if the people you deal with directly are kind, courteous, and especially happy at their work, you can know the management is the same. Thanks for an old fashioned shopping experience in this new age of efficiency first where the human spirit is dulled by a purely...
Read moreKinda bum since I have been shopping here for years. Got some food last week and got food poisoning. It could have been the sushi or the meal combo. Came back a week later cause itâs just a vacation home. Wanted to talk to manager and saw the pre made food had a glaze over. I started to record the food but was told by a tall red headed employee named Charles not to record bc there was an employee in the back ground and she felt I over stepped her privacy. Understandable. He tried to kick me out without hearing how I was poisoned by this company. So I talked to another employee without a name tag saying he was the manager of the store named Dominic. He allowed me to pay and leave if I deleted the video of the glazed food they were serving. So if you get poisoned from here come the next day if you are able to. Also Dominic told me they changed the oil three times a day! đ Whatever that means đ¤ˇââď¸. More or less go to Jensens or buy frozen food since there is not a...
Read moreGood selection, lines are longer than average though, itâs a staffing issue, however, I see many new employees now.
A note to employees: please know where your products are located to expedite my shopping experience. I often want to just grab what I need and go.
The mountainâs staters! Itâs staffed by long time employees that are our neighbors. Itâs nice that they remember my name, ask about how things are going. Itâs got a great local feel.
Meat department has em proved vastly, more responsive and will get you what you need. This was a dilemma in the past that seems to be resolved.
The deli does need some effort in changing out some staff that are less than helpful. The bakery is great.
The management staff are very responsive and work well with ensuring customer service. Over all, I give this store four stars, I donât usually give 5 stars unless I see something extraordinary, hence four stars.
Itâs with a few more miles...
