We took a friend to visit Lake Arrowhead as she had never been before. When my siblings and I were in grammar school, back in the early 60's, our parents bought a place in Arrowhead and we spent many weekends and numerous summers there and had some of the best times of our early lives there. While the lake has basically remained the same, the village has undergone some incredible changes and updates for the good but sadly, the village is now nothing like it was before the recent pandemic, which many shop proprietors say that their overall business has declined severely due to the pandemic. On a much brighter note, the absolute highlight of the trip was taking the approximately 1 hour tour of the lake on the Arrowhead Queen. Matt was our captain and he was absolutely hilarious in some of his comments and he had so many facts about both the lake and it's surrounding area as well as many of the absolutely gorgeous properties, when they were built and even who some of the past and current owners of these properties are. If your travels ever take you to Lake Arrowhead, I would highly recommend taking this tour on the Arrowhead Queen and if possible, try to schedule the tour when Matt will be at the helm. I guarantee you will have an enjoyable trip with lots of laughs...

The Lake Arrowhead Queen Boat tour is a very interesting trip around Lake Arrowhead where you can see the full private lake and some of the homes surrounding the lake, and also get a pretty comprehensive history of the lake and the celebrities that live around it.

Our Captain was Don, and he had a great sense of humor. He really enjoyed being our guide and telling us a lot of funny stories about people who have lived there, movies made, and lots of miscellaneous info.

The trip takes about 1 hour and costs $18.50 per adult, 16:50 for seniors, and I believe it was $14.00 for children. The two of us went on the tour at 11:00 am.

I don't want to point out any of the celebrity homes or history, since it is pretty neat hearing it for the first time. It is not too costly to see the full lake. Remember Arrowhead Lake is private and there are not very many ways you can get to the shore or see the homes along the shore unless you live there, or belong to the ALA (Arrowhead Lake Association). Enjoy the photos, and try to plan a trip...

Located in the middle of the San Bernadino forest, Lake Arrowhead is a practical vacation for those who don't have a lot of time to travel to far off mountain destinations. Only 90 miles east of Los Angeles, it is easy to get to from many big cities in Southern California. Yet, it's proximity to large urban areas does not speak at all of the town itself. Cozy and adorable, Lake Arrowhead delivers exactly what you expect from a mountain village. Small buildings with red roofs, clear blue waters, and vibrant green pine trees decorated this town from end to end.

With four distinct seasons, Lake Arrowhead is a great vacations for all times of year. Whether you like hiking or skiing, Lake Arrowhead will be able to provide fun outdoor activities for you. The town is both pet- and family-friendly, so it's an ideal getaway for a...

It costs $25 to board the cruise around the lake. You will be boarding the interior of a small ship. No outside view to take in the air. The seats are not very good either for sightseeing, and they are pointed at an angle where you would need to entirely turn or even get on your knee to see anything. You will be jumping in between people to see the landmark on the other side of the ship. The windows were dirty and not as large as I anticipated, which led to horrible shots with my camera, which led to me abandoning the whole idea. It is difficult to take in the details and sights when the cruise is ten miles away from where they want you to be looking. The coordination and pathing were questionable at times. The captain himself was very knowledgeable and a witty guy, but for $25? Come on, guys. You can do better than that.
