TLDR: I hope you like walking. Nice inside, but it’s in a sketchier area. Room amenities are just alright, but I definitely had a better experience than I would have at a similar priced private hotel anywhere near here. This is a good hostel if you’re here for a weekend and don’t mind walking. I came for When We Were Young, I got a mixed room and it was just okay location wise. It is not close at all to any grocery stores, the best I could do was walking 30 min to a big Walgreens next to the Sahara hotel where they have SOME fresh food. There are a couple 24h restaurants on the way. It’s a 30 minute walk from the Las Vegas Festival Grounds (and also the monorail/beginning of the strip), as well as 30 minutes walking the other way to Fremont st. Since it’s right in the middle it’s really just okay if you like to walk. It is however right next to the arts district on Main Street which is actually super cute, check out the antique mall and Dig It coffee shop. The hostel is on a slightly sketchier street, but it’s really just some homeless people stalking around, and if you’ve lived in a city you should know how to handle yourself and it’s really not a problem. If you’re a woman walking alone at night I might suggest you take an Uber, but after a festival there’s usually more people on the street and it’s safer. The rooms were alright— the beds and lockers are a bit wobbly and there are no outlets BY the beds so you either have to not charge your phone overnight or have it 5-10 feet away. But the bathroom and beds were clean. Breakfast isn’t a huge deal but it’s nice that they offer it, and I really liked the patio space. The staff were nice and check in was easy. Considering it’s a Vegas hostel, I was expecting it to be much worse. I feel like this is a better experience than I might have had in a grimy similar priced private hotel, and since other travelers might be coming in knowing Vegas is a seedy spot, I think everyone is pretty respectful of each other here. I had a nice time.

This was a great weeks stay in a hostel. I was greeted by David upon arrival, who couldn't have been more helpful. He showed me around, gave me tips on good places to eat and things to see, even used his own phone to pay for the onsite washing machine for me as I don't have american phone. The rooms are basic but clean, this is a party hostel... not caesars palace. Bunks are well spaced and lockers for everyone to use if they wish. Every evening the back patio is open and the staff come out and drink with all the travellers... and that crazy guy Diego that works there gets u in good spirit and free entry to the clubs with the best bands. Ask him for a shot out of his Shot Gun ;) There is a big gate at the front and the property feels safe within. Many amazing guests from all over the world, really fun and welcoming place. Even after check out they were still friendly and inviting me to pool party and chatting with me. Everyone that works there are travelling and looking to party as well, so it make the atmosphere even better. I read some of the negative comments and I honestly think these people have unrealistic expectations of what a travelling hostel is. There were no homeless or locals staying. There are homeless on the street outside but they never bothered us. 25 min walk to fremont street. Would stay again if I came back.

I traveled over 1800 miles to this place only to be turned away at check in because the receptionist accused me of being a local. I showed him my Wisconsin ID and my boarding pass from my flight that morning but he insisted that if i were from out of state i would have brought more luggage. I always travel light and there is nothing i would need that i couldnt get in a 10 minute walk so i only brought 1 bag. Plus my reservation was only 2 nights. I had to cancel my whole vacation and spend over 150$ to get a new plane ticket home that night. I had also purchased a weekend pass to twitchcon and was only able to attend 1 day because of them. Last year I stayed at Bungalow hostel next door and they were infinitely more professional. I think the clerk was just being lazy and was annoyed that I had misplaced my ID when I first showed up and had to spend time looking through my things before I could present it. Very disappointing. I decided to attach my receipt for my flight transfer to this review as more evidence I am not a Las Vegas resident. After already showing them my ID and boarding pass I wouldn't be surprised if they still insist I'm from Las Vegas.

AVOID this place & go somewhere else.

I booked one night through their website for the 13th of December, 2014.

That night the heat in the room was unbelievable and kept getting hotter, I was suffocating. I got up to go complain, another guy in the room told me he has done so and the manager was very rude to him (a tall Russian guy with glasses is the Manager), I went to talk to him and he was rude to me also.

I spent the next night at another hotel & was told by Sin City that they have rooms for the next day, when I came to book a room, the Manager confronted me about what happened that night and said to me: You wrote a bad review about us. We don't have any rooms, we are all booked.

I spent the next 2 nights at another Hostel.

On 12/17/14 I called Sin City Hostel at 4:10 pm. I spoke with Alex who works there, he of course does not know my voice. He told me they have lots of rooms for tonight. I asked if I should make reservation on the phone to make sure I have a room (Since I can't book online the same day, it has to be at least a day before), He said: No, just be here before 11 pm.

I told him I will be there in few minutes. He said: You will be fine.

I arrived there at 4:25 pm. I pulled in the parking lot on my motorcycle, he and the manager were sitting outside. They both know my motorcycle.

Alex went into the office and asked how he can help me? I told him I had called few minutes ago & he had told me he had lots of empty rooms.

He tells me: Oh, I am sorry all the rooms were booked in the last few minutes.

I told him that I asked him to keep a room for me, he said you should have given me your credit card and asked about phone reservation.

I replied that I DID ask him if I needed to reserve a room and he said no there are lots of available rooms.

He told me that they give priority to online bookings & that all the room were taken online just few minutes ago.

I said that Can not actually book a room the same day online, that it has to be done the day before. So if these rooms were booked the day before then he would have known about them when I called him, it does not take an entire day for the online bookings to come through (the confirmation is done immediately when the room is booked, it does not take an entire day for the booking to show up). That when I called he told me there were many rooms available, that there was no need to make a reservation.

I am SURE his manager when he saw me pull in on my motorcycle told him: Tell him all the rooms are booked.

These people are crocks and dishonest. They are bunch of LIARS.

I had to go to another hostel and pay $5 more for a room.

Alex and his manager wasted my time and gas money driving to their hostel so they can lie to me about their rooms being full.

All of this because the Manager did not like the review that he thinks I wrote about him and his hostel.

These people are dishonest and don't deserve to be in business.

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, there are LOTS of Hostels in Vegas owned by much Nicer people than...

Hey Guys! So as a travel business ower, I like to travel to various parts of the world and explore different experiences including Living arrangements, activities, restaurants, and other accommodations. I was a bit anxious because check-in ended at 11p,my flight had been delayed, and I wouldn't arrive until about 2am. My anxiety subsided after I'd spoken to the friendly office agent, who accommmodated my after hour check- in with ease and provided instructions (via email) on what to do when I arrived. The property was gated and had free parking. The set up consisted of 8 bed bunks, lockers, and 1 bathroom. To my surprise, I already had 4 roommates (unisex), there were no strange smells, and things appeared to be pretty clean. Bed spreads and pillows were provided, along with a bath towel. They even had a laundry facility. Because I am a bit of a neat freak, I did go to the convenient store (4 minute walk), to purchase disinfectant wipes. A lite complimentary breaskfast was provided in the lounge area, where there was also a stove to prepare your own meals. Wifi was strong/ free and the seating area reminds you of a college dormitory. It was very comfortable! On NYE, hors d'oeuvre's/ drinks were provided along with a complimentary Limo Ride to the festivities on the Strip. The people I've met, including the staff, were extremely nice and fun to hang out with. Most of us hung out the entire night and brought in the New Year together. While this place isnt the Ritz and not really my style, I would DEFINITELY recommend for the experience, excellent customer service, reasonable prices, convenience to what Vegas has to offer, and most of all, the great people staying there (Maybe I Just got Lucky). My only complaint was the lack of hot water. This place is fair however, the staff and other patrons justify my...
