Super 8 by Wyndham Lavonia — Hotel in Lavonia

I have been coming to this hotel for years whenever I come to visit Georgia with our youth group. The hotel was ok to deal with during that time but it has been much years later since I have been back to this hotel. After all these years the hotel still remains in the same condition. SERIOUSLY!!! The only improvements are the decorative end bed cover and a small refridgerator plus a microwave. My experience at this hotel was not pleasant. I was irritable the entire time staying there. When I walked into the room it had a mildew smell to it. The towels were super thin and a dingy white. Could not switch rooms due to it being booked out. Customer service was slightly tolerable but not satisfying. Housekeeping didn't even clean the bathroom properly. The toilet wasn't functioning properly and they didn't even try to clear it up until we complained and then to top it off the attendant offered to give me the plunger to unclog due to the fact they had no one on staff to fix the problem. It was only 6pm in the evening!! SERIOUSLY!! I informed the attendant that I was going to lunch with some friends and will be back to obtain plunger. Then he finally thinks to offer someone on the premises that will take care of it while we were out. Once we returned to follow up on the toilet issue the attendant was unaware if it was resolved or not. UGH!!! We arrive in our room to see that the toilet was plunged but not CLEANED!!! Hotel blanket was thrown on the middle of the floor and not folded nicely on the bed. I tried one morning to take advantage of their complimentary breakfast by eating an apple on the go but once I touched the apple it felt super soft like it's going bad. APPLES ARE NOT TO BE SQUISHY EXCEPT IN A PIE!! OMG!! I didn't even try anything else in that place. Hotel didn't even apologize for not being on their game with customer service or even compensate for the inconvenience they caused us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It definitely needs to be torn down or put under new management that knows how to implement "BE OUR GUEST" service standards and know that everything speaks at your business, home...etc. Walkways not properly painted, pool wasn't clean and they didn't even cover it up so the guest couldn't see it, parking area under construction but no sign to apologize for the mess. After all these years to still suck as a hotel. COME ON!!! Super 8 hotels from now on I will avoid especially the one in Lavonia, GA. Stay AWAY from this place!! This place doesn't even deserve a star but I only selected one in order to...

DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!! I’d give this place a negative rating in all categories if possible. The nastiest place we’ve ever booked to stay. Me, my wife, our 3 month old, my mom, and dad booked 2 rooms to stay the weekend. We walked in the rooms and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Roaches, other small Bugs, dirt on carpet, dirty walls, dust, old food in the fridge, burnt carpets, dirty stove tops, parts of the stove tops missing, dogs barking in the rooms beside us, moldy showers, smelled musky, curtains hug up by a rope, and even our key card we were first handed at the office window was dirty and looked reused. Went and got the manager and he said we would receive no refund because we didn’t come straight back to the office, and tell them about it....we didn’t go straight back to the office because we were on our phones trying to find another available room somewhere else. Manager and front desk worker acted like the things in the room were no big deal...even after showing them the numerous photos I took of the room and the bugs. Manager told us that room is “where he kept his lunch in the fridge”. Manager wouldn’t give us a refund after not even being there 15 minutes....but luckily we were able to find another room off another exit...and was well worth the extra money to not have to spend another second in this super 8. Save your time, and spend a little extra money for a better place, and better service...
