We were coming through the area and googled the area for restaurants and look through a list and came across this place. We read some reviews and on there it was I think rated a 4.2 but we looked at the menus and seen that you know the menus seem like it would be a nice flavor to try. Pictures and descriptions made it seem very nice so we just took a chance you could say. We pulled into the parking lot and parked right next to where the patio was cause we had seen that it was pet friendly, which indeed it was and that was nice for us so we grabbed our dog and we went and sat out on the patio. they were you know ant piles at underneath the chair at our table where there was some food laying on the ground or whatever but other than that, it wasn’t that bad. The waitress was prompt and we already looked at the menu while we were driving so we pretty much knew what we want but she was also really good about. Hey let me get your appetizer going and I’ll be right back and you give me your order and we thought that was good. She brought the drinks and appetizer back and then asked us if we wanted to order and we already knew what we wanted so we wanted two of the prime rib Dishes. They were advertised at $32 each. It was a 14 ounce steak and you get a salad and a side. Well, my wife and I was having a really pleasant conversation and really wasn’t paying attention and when the waitress had came and got our appetizer order, I was texting my daughter to tell her that we wasn’t going to be home when I earlier told her that day we would. The reason why I say this or indulge this much info is I looked back on my messages and that was 7:38 PM. So the waitress came back almost an hour later and saying you didn’t get your food. I didn’t see you put up on the rack and she says what did y’all have we told her she remembered then and she said all right I’ll be back. I’ll go put another order in. So about 25 minutes later, our food was brought out and it was not cooked the way we wanted. I wanted rare and my wife wanted a medium. my wife took a picture of mine after I cut up some and I cut down the middle. It was just dull, gray brownish color pretty much all the way through. it also wasn’t even our waitress that brought the food to us. It was a host. let me just go ahead and say right now the best thing that they brought us was the honey butter croissant. Everything else was really subpar, and I even think the mashed potatoes and cheese that I ordered the mashed potatoes was instant they had an instant taste.. we ate a few bites and then just stopped eating altogether. I feed my dog a few bites of fat off the steak. yes, I believe my dogs review would probably be better than mine. so by now you know me and my wife were having a cigarette smoke and talking about this and it’s been I guess I don’t 20 minutes since we seen a host or a waitress and our waitress finally came back around and we had to discuss you know what was going on with our dishes and she said that she would go get the manager. We waited about 1012 minutes and she returned and brought some to go boxes and said her manager just said he would knock off one of our entrées. I can only speculate that I mean why didn’t the manager come out and talk to us you know he could’ve been a good manager and come and talk to the customers like he should’ve but he didn’t. OK now here’s the kicker on top of all the other. We gave the waitress $100 bill to pay the bill and the total bill was $41 well, she gave us $48 back. boat I don’t know about y’all, but I’m just regular arithmetic 41 and 48 is $89 so there’s $11 missing. My wife said to the waitress, if she wanted a tip she should find the 11 dollars. (Lmfao) The moral of this story is our dog got to eat steak for $32 and that’s about it and this is my review. Thank you. Oh yeah, the appetizer was not very good either and the wife did take a picture of my steak, it...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that DHEC needs to visit this establishment. When we sat down, shortly after we sat down, there were 2 servers in the corner which one was braiding the other server's hair. In a restaurant? Very unsanitary. Next the waitress dropped an entire drink on one of the individuals in our dinner party soaking her pants and purse. Not even providing a real apology. We had to walk her through step by step on what she needed to get us to help clean up the mess. Why would you bring just a dry towel and not a warm wet towel? Common sense is the warm wet towel will help provide everything from being sticky. I guess it is true that common sense cannot be taught. Instead of this young lady trying to make up for her mistake by letting her immediate supervisor know what happened, she brought out the check charging the person she waste the tea on the full amount. At this point I was done with this waitress. When I have to tell you what you should do to make things right, then you should not be working in this establishment. She then brings the check back with a $4.36 discount on a $26 bill. What? Dry cleaning costs more than $4.36. I asked to speak with the manager and it took the waitress 10 minutes to notify us that a manager wasn't available because she could not leave out the kitchen. This was beyond me as well. We called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager and she came to the phone in less than a minute. Trisha was very inviting and gave a proper solution with comping the individual's ticket. The next unprofessional thing tje waitress done was proceeded to go complain to several people at the greeter stand about what transpired. (In front of other customers). I am not sure what kind of establishment is being ran in this restaurant but I sure feel that the leadership need to empower their employees and give customer service training. Based on the waitresses' childish attitude I will never bring a group of people to this...
Read moreI've been to J Peters many times and last night was the worst meal and service I have ever received. We had a party of 5. Four dinners came out at one time, the 5th which the runner said she just couldn't carry and would be right back took another 7 minutes to get to the table. The waitress who I had seen before refilled our drinks from paper cups, began refilling a glass over a plate on the table dripping Coke into the meal and with the cup in the other hand poured Coke on foot. 2 burgers were ordered, but no condiments were brought with the meals, we had to ask for ketchup and mustard. The fries on the burger plates were just warm indicating the items had been plated and were sitting in the back waiting to be moved to the table. I had the flounder with tarter sauce. It was thin, just warm, and after having to ask for the tarter sauce, 5 minutes later the waitress returned to tell me they were making it. 10 minutes later and half way through my meal, the sauce arrived. Another in our party ordered the baby back ribs. The rack was shorter than normal and the ribs were not very meaty. It was obvious they had caked the ribs with sauce to cover up the lack of meat. Our waitress only came back once after meals arrived and presented the check without asking if we would like desert. After I ordered two deserts to share at the table, she took the bill back, delivered the desert with 4 spoons, not 5, and had to be told, another spoon please. I'm a big believer in feedback directly to poor performing restaurants, so this morning I went to the J Peters website to post this message. It was funny, they say, "We love to hear from customers, so please leave a comment or say hello in an email.". Problem is, there is no email address or place on their website to post. Look's like they really don't want the feedback. This is not a cheap meal. the 5 meals was over $130, they can and should do much better. I'm not sure we will be back for a...
