Pretty good sub style sandwiches. I got the pizza sub. I do not think this is a regular menu option, but more of a special. Either way, it was delicious and covered in provolone cheese, grilled onions and bell pepper, some meat and a tomato sauce. Other members of my party got the Philly cheese steak. Everyone was pretty satisfied with their food. There is no dine-in option, so you are either ordering to-go, or ordering and eating at the outside picnic tables. There are also vegetarian options available. They have kind of funky hours and close at 4 pm (although this doesn't seem to be abnormal for the peninsula). Would for sure return for...

Surfer Sands is a place to get sandwiches to go while you enjoy your day at the beach. There are also picnic style tables in front, if you want to eat your yummies right away. I have been going there for years, since they first opened. They’ve gone through a series of new owners, but they have kept the same yummy menu and make the sandwiches just the same as the first owner. I love the Turn Turtle and the Goofy Foot. The Goody Foot is a vegetarian sandwich, but I always ask them to add turkey and they gladly oblige. The portions are filling! Definitely better...

I'm a local, I drive by surfer sands almost daily in hopes that they're open most days they are closed when they are open they don't have bread they can't do this they can't do that and they forget most of my order so whoever the new owners are they suck because they're never open and when they are open they forget half your order. I would have given them five stars I give them half of one, they need to do something about their website too because it says that they're open on days that they're not even there and that there...

Wish I had tried this place sooner, there are so few decent restaurants in Long Beach! My hubbie had the "Big Kahuna" and I had the vegetarian "Surfer Swells" and they were both absolutely fantastic. It is so hard to find filling delicious vegetarian food in the area, so it was such a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be returning next time I'm on the Long Beach peninsula. Only advice I'd have is eat is soon after purchase, I think it could become soggy if you dally due to the veggie and/or meat juices .

This place makes a proper sandwich. Ingredients were fresh and the service was very friendly. We had the albacore tuna sandwich, big kahuna, bacon sandwich, and grilled cheese & ham. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. Can’t wait to come back and grab to go and enjoy on the beach. It was worth my money and time.
