Adrift Distillers — Local services in Long Beach

So cool to return to Long Beach after many years and see cool new things like this popping up. They only had 4 offerings when we visited. A crisp, clean vodka, a very grain-forward white whiskey (which we took back to Las Vegas with us), a gin which is very citrusy and not so juniper-forward which I enjoyed, and the cranberry "liqueur" (can you really call it that if it's still 60 proof? Haha), which was very viscous given its alcohol content. Very tart, great if you're not looking for something super sweet.

I can't wait to come back and see what they have in store in the future. Also, tastings are free if you buy a bottle!

What a terrific find! Matt and the team at Adrift Distillers are making world-class spirits. I am very picky when it comes to my gin. We came home with gin, aquavit, and a deliciously unique cranberry liqueur that I’m looking forward to using in multiple ways. My bestie also purchased a used aquavit barrel (in which our bottle of aquavit was aged) for me for my birthday - signed by the head distiller and destined for a place of honor in our home. This is a newer distiller that is making surprisingly great whiskey and bourbon now. Normally new distilleries make a bland, woody, grainy alcohol that they try to push off on you as a whiskey or bourbon. This establishment has jumped over that hurdle and in making quality whiskeys and bourbons right now. They have a variety of other liqueurs, vodkas, gins, and white whiskey's that are also very good.
