Such a beautiful wooden sculpture. If you’re curious about walk-ability, the sculpture is about an 8 minute walk from the main Arch on the boardwalk and about a minute from the Sid Snyder entrance parking. If you’re looking to get in quick and get out, the Sid Snyder entrance is preferred. One issue I experienced, which is to no fault of the maintenance and display of the sculpture, was the number of e-bikes and their riders blocking the main path, off the trail, up to the Whale sculpture. If you’re walking, it’s recommended to use the boardwalk as many of the tourist e-bike riders have no sense of common courtesy or sharing the “roadway”. Overall, a fun addition to the sight-seeing...

This beach is CrAZy busy! There was at least 100 people, if not more! I also didn't see the gray whale Skelton, but I also wasn't looking for it. There must have been a flying kite competition cause they were blocked off in sections with a bunch of people flying kites in their area. They kites were awesome to see! This particular day the ocean was pretty crazy so not many people were in the water. Long Beach to walk for miles. Careful of cars!! They are allowed to drive on the beach. Which is cool for older people to find more secluded areas without walking a mile, but some people drive WAY too fast. Watch your...

Remains of the skeleton of a grey whale from 1805!!! This is on the ground ahead of the whale statues along the board walk trail. Take the stairs down from the board walk towards the whale sculptures. You will see the real bones a little ahead of the sculptures lying in the grass! I saw people walking past the real bones without even realizing it!

Nice beach where you can take your car all the way up to the ocean. We actually were not aware of any whale skeleton until we saw the Google Reviews later. Because we visited in the winter, we did not see any sunbathing/swimming going on so I am not aware if it is allowed or not. You can certainly dip your toes in the ocean for a while.
