The Dime Fairfax — Restaurant in Los Angeles

The Dime is a good time. My favorite night is definitely Sunday - old school night - because the DJ's set is pretty much always on point. Thursday night is pretty fun as well. The DJ for Thursday nights played a nice set of music. The feel of the bar is small (because it actually is), intimate, and like a local hotspot, but it definitely gets overcrowded - especially since things are just opening back up out here after being closed over a year. That, I don't like. It's actually too much, especially since they aren't enforcing that their customers wear masks; and they pack so many people in there. It's almost like being in a sardine tin, which any other time I wouldn't mind, but with the pandemic this should not even be allowed. If anything, they should try to see if they can have a few tables outside as well so it doesn't get overcrowded inside. But I find my little corner and I'm good just vibing on my own if the set is good. Since I'm not a drinker, I can't comment on the drinks but the water is good! Lol. The Goods:The flowers go to the DJ. He had the dance floor shaking and for my best friendnwho came from out of town, it was definitely a wave. The bartender was extremely cute sns nice, the crowd seemed to be younger mixed with a sprinkle of over 40s heads. The space was intimate, so even with a small crowd only a few ppl can make it pop off. Met a cast member from the HBO show "Insecure" in the building so that made it well worth it. Ironically the bathroom was very clean for a regular place.

The Bad: Obviously on a Monday I didn't expect the crowd to be hard-core deep but management obviously believed that VIP was gonna sit at EVERY table, so it looked very embarrassing when the person who could possibly want the VIP status stayed at the bar and opted to be just like the regular folks. One bathroom is a turn off..especially if it'd a packed night . This place looks like it could benefit from Sugnature Wings or some special food option but it may be still...

So, to start with the negatives, the bar was dumb crowded! There was absolutely no wiggle room to get to the bar or the bathroom. After literally 10 minutes of being there, I left. I could not move. There was limited seating, so if you didn't get there at a decent hour, or reserve a spot, you are guaranteed to stand. Even with all these negatives, the bar was still awesome. The atmosphere was great and the music was always good. Word of advice: GO EARLY! We had to wait outside because the bar had reached its capacity. We had to wait for people to leave before we could enter. It was raining the night before so the wind chill outside was almost unbearable. We decided to wait because there was no cover charge.
