I stayed three nights in Dresden's B&B in early April 2022. It was a very good experience. Dresden is very nice and caring and also stay in the house (and during my stay also Joe was staying in the house for a longer rent; the three of us had joyful discussions every morning and evening). If you need information about LA such as attractions, museums, hiking and shopping she is there to help you. She is a long time LA expert, her husbound even got a street named after him! The bed in the room was comfortable, the bathroom is just outside the room, you can use the refrigerator. On the backside of the house there is a pool and a patio to enjoy the evening sun. I came from Union station and realized it was very easy to get to the house. Red Metro line (B) to Hollywood Highland station. Go up on the street and bus 217 go there every 30 minutes and will take you to a stop close the Dresden's B&B. The house is located between Hollywood bouleward and Sunset bouleward. A very good spot for exploring LA. Down the street you have Sunset Blvd five minutes away by walking. Down there find a good thai restaurant (Toi on Sunset), Sunset Grill Hollywood and many other restaurants. Nearby on Sunset is also a good Ralph's Supermarket. If you want to do hiking Runyon Canyou is just up the hill a few blocks away. If you are interested in music from the 60s and 70s you may want to see Laurel Canyou. 30 minutes walking away is the Canyon Country Store. I can strongly recommend Dresden's B&B if you like that type of accomodation...
Read moreI first found out about Dresden's B&B ten years ago; I was looking for a place in Hollywood near sites I wanted to see, but this random find has become a ten-year friendship. I used to stay with family for most of my trips, but Dresden's has become my go-to spot. She is a great host and genuinely cares about her guests. Dresden gives great advice regarding what to visit, tells amazing stories, and is incredibly knowledgeable. ||The house is well-taken care of and beds are very comfortable. Coffee and continental breakfast is offered for those who want a simple start to their day and there are a variety of restaurants within walking distance for lunch and dinner. (Check out John Kelly Chocolates down the street, if you have a sweet tooth.) If you have rented a car, or are thinking of renting one, there is a spot for you to park.||This is a great home base for those wanting to explore Hollywood, and after a day of exploring, there is a great outdoor space to sit...
Read more18 years since I'd stayed here and I returned on a quick stopover en route to NZ from Italy to find it as good as - if not better - than ever. Everything immaculate and well laid out in a leafy quiet neighbourhood that defies the bustling boulevards a block or two away. Dresden is a great guide to the city and gave me tips to maximise my time to see as many art galleries as possible! Even got out to the Norton Simon Gallery in Pasadena thanks to her suggestion. Another surprise is the efficiency of LA public transport and the location is ideal for travelling that way with a bit of forward planning. So to sum up just hope it's not going to be quite so long till I return again and will have to timetable in a few more days at this...
