Was treated extremely rudely by staff and told by them they didn't appreciate my "attitude". My "attitude" was that I ordered an 18 ounce americano which the cashier assured me they could make. The barista guy handed me a quad shot of espresso in an 8 ounce cup. He first lied and said that's they only have one size cup. Then the manager came over and started telling me it's just the way they do things and they would not give me a larger cup with more water, I could have a large coffee (for five dollars I'd already paid) or get my money back. Finally when I was not happy with either option she said she could add more water to the espresso in the small cup at least, and as I was taking a second to think about whether I wanted this she declared she was just going to refund me. I asked to just add the water to the little cup then, to which she SNAPPED at me that she'd already offered me that and that she didn't appreciate my attitude. I don't appreciate YOUR attitude! You're extremely rude and that unfortunately seems the default attitude by some of the employees here. Not all of them, some of them are very nice and I do not want to paint all of them in a poor light just because some of the staff has an attitude. It seems the management is not overseeing customer service as can be seen by other reviews with...
Read moreBy no stretch of the imagination is this a bad restaurant. The location stands out as a very nice, clean, pleasant open space, which can be hard to find in Hollywood. What’s more is the food isn’t bad… but here’s where it gets tricky. It’s not good either.
You’re gonna spend $15-$25 if you’re getting food and a drink here. Those prices are not unheard of, but I’m talking about a breakfast burrito and a black coffee. Me personally, I think that’s too expensive, and it should be in the state constitution that a breakfast burrito and coffee cannot cost any more than $13, but that’s for another day.
So it’s expensive? Not crazy… but it’s not good. It’s serviceable. No spices, no zest, and no real flavor. Everything I’ve had here is bland, and it takes forever for them to make it. I waited 20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich once, only for them to give me a burrito instead. Not a big deal but that was the second time in a row I’d been given the wrong order.
If this was the only spot in Hollywood that was operating as a cafe space on this level, I wouldn’t complain. It is fine. However, with Javista and just a couple blocks over I wouldn’t say this place is worth it unless you really want a place across the street from the TCL to...
Read moreI work a block from this place so I go for lunch regularly. I like that they have vegan friendly items and their food is great. However, the service....I'd never really had a bad experience here until last time I made a phone order for only a side of potatoes and was told it would take 5 minutes to be ready ( the time it takes me to walk over), I arrive at the till, pay and wait and wait and wait. I heard the cashier ask for my potatoes but no one moved to get them or looked for them, I watched as the workers were telling jokes, pushing each other and laughing. I finally asked one of the very entertained workers if my potatoes were done and he looked at me quite sternly, like I had asked something crazy while he was on break, which he wasn't. He walked over to the cook's window and asked for my potatoes - waited there and kept laughing, did't even bother to inform me that no one had placed the order. 25 minutes for one side of potatoes. No apology, no acknowledgement of their...
