Stayed here for a few nights, and it was terrible. I guess there weren't a lot of guests during our stay so they didn't feel the need to keep the A/C turned on. When we first got to our room the fans were going and everything was fine. But when we fell asleep that night, I woke up several hours feeling like I couldn't breathe. The control for fan and A/C were not working, and the air in the hotel was warm and muggy. It was the middle if the night, so we thought our fan was broken and opened the window. Being near a busy street, the noise pollution was horrible. In the morning we let the staff know so they could send a technician to check first thing, but that's when they told us that they had turned it off. When we asked why, they said that it was because the other guests might think it's too cold. Well couldn't they just turn their fans off?!! Also, we didn't really see a lot of other guests. Maybe they were just trying to save money. They could have at least sent us a fan if that was the case. They just shrugged off our complaint and said that they would turn it on for now and to call them if they need us to turn it on later at night. Well, it was on at the beginning of the second night, and I woke up in the middle of the night AGAIN in a warm and muggy situation. My family usually likes staying here for our annual trip to LA because of the location, parking, and efficient taxi service with the hotel. But we'll be looking elsewhere next year. Additionally, the internet is slow. When I tried to fall back asleep in the middle of each night I would grab my phone to read or watch something, but couldn't. It's such a shame because I love supporting small businesses, but don't stay here. The discomfort and stress from cut corners is just...
Read moreI stayed for 4 nights in Dec. 2024. Overall I enjoyed my stay. I would consider staying here again, but I might research some other hotels first.
The hotel is located in/above a strip mall in Koreatown. The lobby was beautiful and clean, and the receptionist was so kind. Parking is free- it's literally just a strip mall parking lot but I felt like my car was pretty secure here. A Korean restaurant next door is open until 9pm and serves good eats. The hotel is located close to some bus stops that can take you to downtown LA and beyond. I would agree with some reviewers that this hotel is in a slightly sketchy area but I never felt unsafe walking around the block (I'm also a pretty large man with a rbf). There are no free meals served here, however, free coffee is put out in the morning by the elevators.
Things I liked: -Affordable -Free parking -Spacious room, comfortable mattress -Quiet & clean
Things that could be improved: -Walls were thin, I could hear the conversation happening in the room next door -Water pressure in the shower is weak -Showerhead was only up to my shoulders (I'm 6'4") -My room got CHILLY at night. The heater was robust and quickly heated the room, but it was so loud I couldn't keep it on...
Read moreThe hotel caters specifically for Koreans, this was not clear from the hotel information on booking,.com the staff were pleasant but spoke little English, the hotel was very clean but a little tired, carpets really showed their age. The room we were given overlooked a major intersection with traffic lights, so many sirens, Police, fire, ambulance 24 hours a day. Surrounding areas were very dodgy and made us feel unsafe after dark when popping over the road to pollo loco for take out. The onside restaurant catered solely for Koreans and the head man spoke no English and the place had a very strong fishy smell. ||I had concern about the fire safety of the hotel our floor had about 200m of passages to the rooms but there was no fire doors other than one in lift area meaning should a fire occur the complete floor would become smoke filled.||A good point was the car park and entrance had 24h security, ||The view from our room overlooked an selection of plastic sheet dwellings housing immigrants and piles of rubbish all around.||Not the hotels fault but not a nice view.||Room cleaned every day...
