Unbelievable. I have never before seen such blatant disregard for fundamental sanitary consideration/COVID safety. The barista adjusted her mask over her nose and mouth, pulled up her jeans, touched the register and handed people their receipts, and then proceeded to place only one glove on to make handmade almond milk through a nut bag.
She then proceeded to prepare my drink. I politely asked her to please wash her hands with soap and water before preparing my drink , but she refused. I asked her a second time and, after chuckling right in front of me, put on gloves instead, without washing her hands.
My friend and the other barista just looked at her with surprise. I explained that, to prevent the spread of infection and disease, one must wash hands with soap BEFORE putting on gloves, or else the gloves will inevitably become contaminated (thereby making the gloves completely ineffective). I repeated my request twice more, and she finally acquiesced and washed her hands. I would like to reiterate the fact that, all the while, she mocked me by blatantly chuckling and laughing at my request for basic human consideration of washing ones hands before preparing a drink/food item.
So, if you are the manager or owner of Haute Mess I would encourage you to please reiterate the process of preventing disease and the spread of infection to your employees. The department of health and CDC has guidelines on their website for reference. Additionally, the costumer service here was utterly appalling. As a long time neighbor of Haute Messe I have referred friends and family to shop, but I wonât be doing so any more. Unfortunately, basic costumer service and basic sanitary measures are NOT met at this establishment.
Last: If you are a costumer, you must understand that it is your absolute right to ensure the places you visit are safe and will not cause you illness. If you enjoy this right, donât...

First-So the location isnât bad. Right on the street and has some outside seating and the inside has a couple tables as well. ALOT of wine to purchase as well and I definitely plan on going back and purchasing some and trying new food as well. Itâs run like a deli in a way but a lot more upscale. Itâs nice inside and the staff is really nice and pleasant. They were really helpful.
Second-The food is phenomenal! I got something similar to an Italian hoagie on a ciabatta and one the size was huge! Definitely filling and everything was so fresh and just really good. They have their own aoli they make and it really hit the spot! I HIGHLY recommend this place! Awesome lunch or...
