RUN FAR AWAY. I showed up at 2:40 and asked if I could check in early or if I needed to wait. Manager said I would have to wait which I was fine with but then he proceeded to have the lady check me in and giive me the card and allow me to go to the room. There was multiple flies in our room and that should of been our first clue this was not gonna be great but its summer and we brushed it off. Flies happen.
We dropped our bags and went to get in the pool. We spent over an hour, close to 2 hours in the pool. Afterwards we went for food. It was not until 6ish we were back in the room and went to get comfortable and realized how absolutely disgusting this room was.
The chair I was sitting in was grimey and stained. My daughter went to use the bathroom and to shower and said it was gross. There was several hairs on the toilet seat and a few stray hairs in the tub. I wiped them up and got her in the shower.
We went to turn down the sheets and everything is stained. Our one comforter had two large yellow-brown stains on them. It literally look like someone had an accident in the bed. Same bed there was several rusty blood tone flecks on the sheet. Someone either bled on the sheets or there is bed bugs. I dont believe bugs because I looked but still gross.
The other bed had stains on the brown silky decorative thing that looked like snot or something. And numerous stains throughout the sheets and comforter.
Look, I get it. Its wasteful to just throw sheets away for getting worn but invest in a bottle of bleach. No one wants to climb into a bed that looks like a diaper or something exploded in it.
The tv had something splattered on the base of it. Not sure what. Things were dusty. The tops of the tables and furniture felt like they were wiped down with a dirty rag.
We decided we were not comfortable staying and wanted to leave. We already spent money on this hotel and could not really afford the other hotels available near by (double in price) because this was just a short overnight trip for some fun with our kid. So we decided to go home instead because honestly the hotel room made my skin crawl. I was okay with taking a loss on this. it was that gross!!
I went to check out and the manager was incredibly rude. I just said "I'd like to check out" and he immediately got defensive and wanted to know why. Does it really matter? Cant I check out? So I explained why. And he said I checked in early so if the room is dirty that's why. I was willing to wait!! He offered a new room. I did not want it. He said I just wanted a refund. I NEVER ASKED FOR ONE. I just wanted to leave. So he pushed asking what exactly was wrong so I told him his hotel is disgusting. Because my room was. I left. He was continously being aggressive and rude and I no longer wanted to waste my time on this. I never asked for a refund but honestly he should have offered one. But his customer service is in serious need of help.
I would avoid this hotel. I cannot believe how I was treated and what low standards of...
Read moreSeeing the 3.5 average and a few other indicators and must presume they've had recent problems with staffing. Also, seeing Google call this a "3 star hotel." I must make a correction: this is a Motel where each room has a door directly to their motor car and not an interior hallway. Our story: We checked in 11pm and found our room dark and the door already cracked open--and the clerk who'd just checked us in was two rooms down from us (far from the office), apparently replacing the bedding for those customers--which is a kudos for him, but leaves question-marks for the rest of the staff. With my cellphone flashlight, was able to check through our room and soon found which light was attached to the switch at the door. Its lightbulb had been unscrewed, so we fixed that, and then after a few minutes it started flickering wildly, so I found the clerk still nearby and he was able to stop by shortly and get me a replacement. By this point, two moths had made it into the room (one was there before we were). Because I was taught to do this, I inspected and saw no indicators of any serious pests--just found a wadded up tissue at the head of the bed from previous roomers. The refrigerator and microwave and the rest of the fixtures worked well, although we were warned at check-in to ignore the thermostat controls still on the wall and just use the floor unit, but its controls were limited and if we wanted the fan to run continually, it wouldn't do anything about the temperature. Bathroom was good. Overall our room seemed relatively clean and well-stocked--until the next morning when the coffee setup was consulted. Though we had reservations for two, we only had one plastic cup for the room, and no paper coffee cups, (nor any regular coffee), so a few more times approaching the office and the cleaning staff and we got the morning going. Love how the morning clerk stuck his finger halfway inside my new cup to pull it from a stack instead of just grabbing the outside of a cup from the opposite end of the ream (his were not individually wrapped). Actually, I didn't love it, I was being ironic, which is fitting, because ironically, no 3.5 star hotel would do these things--but a 2.5-star motel just might! Nevertheless, what was lacking in preparedness was made up for in location (if you can ignore the Mimslyn Inn taunting you from across the street--really, I didn't want to pay three times the price of this place just to have everything perfect for a mere 12-hour place to park and sleep until we could get to Caverns). The town was really charming, and the locals were friendly. A short walk into town and you see many historical buildings and nice murals, and before long you find yourself on the Greenway and more of the same! So, I'll give them 3 stars, just because I like being generous--and because the town and the locals helped...
Read moreThis is what we sent to the Manager....||Mr. Patel,|We seldom do reviews unless we had an exceptionally good or horribly bad experience. This time it was horribly bad.||Went to our room and the smoke smell was SO overwhelming that the desk clerk told us she was not happy either.|She put us in another room and all 3 of us agreed, it had a smoke smell too. Betsy was the desk clerk. Very, very helpful. Told us she would move us again but constantly smelled smoke in the rooms. She brought in a portable air cleaner. Actually it just blew out scented air, but it helped & we left the door open for a bit.||After we settled in we put items away and literally had a dust layer on everything.| (I'm not picky, I've cleaned homes while going to college and it isn't fun work, therfore we always leave a very nice tip. However, this was unacceptable. So no tip!)|By this time it was late evening, we had been on the road all day & had not even had dinner. So we cleaned it ourselves. ||Then later we unpacked only to find a pair of panties on the floor, under the desk!!!! Obviously the room had not been vacuumed and as we looked around for more items, it was obvious there was little or no vacuum work done!!|We took the item to Betsy and told her of the lack of cleaning. She documented it all.|Later she called telling us she spoke to the Manager. We were told we would be allowed to check out without a penalty. REALLY?? That was the best the manager had, to tell us we can leave....late evening with no where close to go? We know because this was not our first choice. |That was the answer, not even an apology, just " you can leave"??||Additionally, this review does not address the dirty parking lot or stairs...garbage and old cigarette butts; and old cigarettes even on the stairs||I will give you fair warning that when we return home I will be doing several reviews about our horrible experience, not to make trouble, but to warn others.|The one person who will receive high accolades will be Betsy, who was sincerely upset for us and did her best to make us...
