i love this place so much!! i first fell in love with the salmon toast, but i have been on a voyage of deliciousness with their menu ever since. i had tried dirty chai a few times at other coffee shops and always came away thinking, okay, that was fine, i guess dirty chai is kind of mid in general. little did i know that there was a transcendent dirty chai waiting for me here! from here on out, i swear exclusivity to the dirty chai of broad porch, and i crave it on the reg (no exaggeration, it’s an effort to keep it to once a week, i don’t mind telling you). i coasted on dirty chai and salmon toast for a spell, but then i found myself feeling a bit cheeky, so i tried the breakfast sammy. now, that inimitable chunky spicy apricot jam dances in my waking dreams. just today, i came to the revelation that i’ve been foolishly sleeping on the herby chicky toast (which was also sublime)! suffice it to say, this review is tantamount to a claim that broad porch can do no wrong. everything is delectable. i don’t mind a starbucks sandwich that’s revived from frozen when I’m on the road, but the stuff that comes out of here is made to order from fresh every time, and you can really taste the difference (it’s huge). there are also an assortment of unique and equally delightful pastries to choose from. i often find it hard to pick just one. the staff are always nothing short of lovely, and the place is inviting, comfortable, and there’s plenty of parking nearby. as i said, i have to exercise considerable restraint to not come here more often. if you haven’t tried it yet, please do yourself a favour and grab a treat or...
Read moreMy partner ordered himself a Guatemalan Drip coffee and I got an iced chai. Very, very yummy. And more importantly they are a really lovely local business of good people. We walked in on a late afternoon Wednesday after touring the Luray Caverns. Small town atmosphere, parallel parking on street seemed easy to find. Broad Porch Coffee Co. Staff gently told us they had actually just closed up when we walked in, and then still let us place an order—so nice! They let us talk to them about questions we had for dining in a nearby town of Harrisonburg as they prepped our drinks. Pretty sure the deliciously smooth Guatemalan was roasted either on premise or at their other location which happened to be in Harrisonburg, so we did end up taking one of the many recommendations to eat in that town (Magnolia’s Tacos, will review next and overall thumbs up, great prices). And the Iced chai—really yummy, didn’t catch if it was brewed or powdered or a concentrate—didn’t matter to me as it was very tasty. I said we’d be back, but our route home just doesn’t take us near it, darn it. Another customer looked like they were finishing up a very hearty looking sandwich or scone so I think they also serve some dishes. Thanks Broad Porch Coffee for helping us have some positive memories during our first trip since hunkering down for Covid-19–appreciate your masks being fully on and how clean the...
Read moreNice quaint place. Perfect for breakfast or lunch. Their coffee’s and tea’s were excellent. My wife and I split a spicy tea latte and it was delightful. They also sell their own brands of coffee from all over the world. So if you are a coffee drinker, I am sure you will definitely have your choice here of great coffee. We went on a Sunday and they were very busy. I think this place is one of the only places open on a Sunday in downtown Lurray. The line was practically out the door. It did take a good 15 minutes to get our order placed. I can tell you it was worth the wait. If you want to avoid the lines you may want to get there when they first open. We got there around 9 am. We ordered the Roasted corn and Sweet potato toast. It was a great choice. Every bite was savory and yummy to the taste buds. I originally wanted the Breakfast biscuit Sammy but they said they had sold out of all their egg and biscuit products. While I was initially disappointed, it did not last long because as soon as I took my first bite of the Roasted corn and sweet potato toast as I wrote earlier in this review it was just heavenly. I would recommend this place. Customer service was friendly, and the food was yummy. That’s all I have for this review. Would recommend this place. It is...
