The food here is very over priced for what they're offering. If you order fries as a side you get less than a child's portion. Nobody ever filled our drinks. My Daughter asked our server 3x for water and eventually she just went to the bar and asked the bartender for some herself. We actually had to go to the bar several tines to get whatever we needed. Because our server disappeared into the back on us, for most of our meal. I'm not sure why she didn't come back to our table to check on us. Because there was only one other table of customers in the whole restaurant besides us. So it wasn't like she was busy at all. As a matter of fact, most of the staff was not busy. They were all gathered together behind the bar, talking to each other and watching TV. The food was sooooo salty that it was ridiculous and unedible. My Daughter's bun to her chicken sandwich was too hard to even bite into. So, she had to take the chicken patty off of the bun and eat the chicken by itself. A $15 sandwich that she could not eat with the bun on it! I mean really that's rediculous. My Husband got the Cajun pasta. It claimed on the menu to be a spicy dish. But, there was no spice to it at all. Also, the sauce seemed like it was from a regular jar of pasta sauce. It was pretty bland and very watered down. I had the fish and chips for $15. It was literally 2 frozen Van De Kamp fillets. Just like the ones you get out of the freezer section at the grocery store for $5 to $7 and a whole 12 fries as my side. Our Niece got the kids Mac-n-cheese. But, it was so salty, that she could not even eat it. So, I had to split my 12 fries with her. The service was worse than bad, it was simply nonexistent. The food was very bland and nowhere near worth what we paid for it. To top it all off, not only did they charge us full price with no discount for food we couldn't eat. But, they ran our credit card twice and double charged us for our meal. In fairness though, I will say their potato skins appetizer was good. Needless to say though, we will not be returning to this restaurant. Nor would we recommend it to anyone else. To sum up our experience, I'd say we had poor service, blah food, and we were severly overcharged. I'd gave them the one star for their potato skins and the tiny bit of Coleslaw that came with my fish & chips, which was...
Read moreLet me start by first saying that our waitress was wonderful. We were in Luray after visiting Shenandoah Park for the day. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this place on Google maps. It had 4.4 stars and the food pictures looked great.....WRONG!!!! We both ordered a cheeseburger (well done, which means NO PINK), also ordered the bacon cheddar fries, and cheese curds for an appetizer.. the cheese curds were great, however when our burgers came out, I added ketchup and squished the bun back down on my burger. The bottom bun instantly had blood soaked into it. So I cut my burger in half to see that it was completely raw inside. My husband cut his and it was the same way so we sent them back. When they brought our food back out I noticed that our burgers were the same burgers that we sent back. They just put them back on the grill (big no no as we both already touched them and you put them back on the grill where you are cooking other peoples food). She brought them back out to us and of course where we had cut them in half, it was now cooked. Pushed down on my bun, and again blood. Cut it again in the opposite direction and it was still pink. The lady whom I assume was the manager came over to see how they were this time, and I showed her....her response "well it's medium well now" and she walked away. Ummmmm, I ordered well done. Our fries were now cold and gross because they didn't give us new ones when they took our plates back to "fix" the burger. Our waitress apologized multiple times (not her fault, she's not the cook). Got our bill and still paid full price for everything, no discount no nothing. We will never return to this place. If you get food here, cut into it before you eat it. I never leave a bad review but this one needs one. I know there are people who like their hamburger cooked this way but I don't. If I order well done, I want well...
Read moreWhile visiting the Luray Caverns, we stumbled upon Ollie Cat Cafe for dinner. The atmosphere of the restaurant is unique and unforgettable. We had the pleasure to be waited on by a server named Sarah, who answered all of our questions and even offered her own suggestions from the menu. The mozzarella sticks that we ordered as an appetizer were delicious, served piping hot, and had a wonderful cheese pull. We ordered our 8 year old the Quarter-Pound Cheeseburger and fries from the children's menu, my husband ordered a loaded Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, and I ordered the fried Chicken Sandwich. All the food was delicious, served hot and cooked to perfection. Ollie Cat Cafe makes most of their condiments in house. The honey mustard as a perfect addition to the fried chicken sandwich, and the homemade Ranch Dressing was to die for, and paired wonderfully with everything. Our waitress Sarah had a clear understanding of the menu and was very attentive to our every need. When she discovered that our son's birthday was last week, she brough him over a toy car that he could keep, let him pick out a cat sticker, and wished him a belated happy birthday. She even told us about the how the restaurant came to be and the beloved cat that the restaurant is named after. When we asked where we could get good, locally owned ice cream, Sarah was able to point us in the right direction. We had a wonderful experience at Ollie Cat Cafe and the next time that we are in the area, we will definitely be back. Thank you Sarah for the...
