Smashburger — Restaurant in Lyndon

Very disappointed. Recently moved to Louisville and everyone has raved about Smashburger. And I do not see why. The staff was friendly and always smiling, and we got our food really quickly. But that doesn't make up for the quality of the food. Ordered a classic smash, well the big smash, which includes: American cheese, smash sauce, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion on an egg bun. Also ordered bacon and fried egg to go with it, just to be different. Didn't actually have any of that on it. Got a plan burger, cheese, and fried egg with a bun. Nothing else. Got charged for cheese. Really? It was supposed to come on the burger, along with sauce, ketchup, tomato, pickles and onion according to the menu. Guess I hoped for too much, or I should have ordered everything individually. Oh wait, didn't get the bacon I asked for and got charged for. Fries were very very salty, even with the rosemary, olive oil, and garlic. I couldn't taste any one of those over the salt, Had to refill my drink to finish them. My wife was equally unimpressed. Had to go back to the counter to reorder a shake that was ignored during our first order. The only thing she enjoyed was the goat's cheese. For $30 plus the $4.53 for the shake, I guess I had expected more.

I was seriously contemplating sending it back. But having worked in the restaurant industry, you DO NOT send food back you want to eat. I guess I'll stick with Steak n Shake or even McDonald's. I know I will get the right food, and...

My wife and I are HUGE burger lovers. We love trying out all of the places in town, and are generally very satisfied as it's really hard to mess up a burger. Hearing so much from our friends about Smash Burger, today we gave it a shot. The line was out the door, which at first was a good sign to us. The poor woman at the front register seemed like she was running the entire place by herself, and looked very overwhelmed, but she did well and we got our food somewhat quickly.

On to the food... My wife's avocado chicken burger was a little greasy, but that's expected at places like this, so no problem there. Overall, she loved it. That's the reason for the 2 stars instead of 1.

I ordered the bbq bacon burger. Both mine and my son's burgers were charred black on the outside. This totally ruined the flavor, as all we could taste was the burned nastiness of a severely overcooked burger. It was crunchy, and as you know, anything burned overpowers any remaining flavor in your mouth. I'm disappointed, as I'm sure this was just a fluke. We took our food to go, otherwise I would have sent it back and asked for another. As much as I hear about this place, I hate that my one experience totally ruined it for us. We couldn't finish our meals, wasted our money, and most likely won't be back to this location.

Five Guys is still the reigning champ for now...

Wow first time trying smash burger and we will be back. Let me start by saying customer service was on point. Holly who greeted us when walking in on 9/23/22 was so professional and nice. As we ordered the system went down. She continued our order and told us not to worry everything would be taken care of. She was very kind an explained everything going on. There was no way anyone could get upset or have a bad feeling being in this restaurant. As they were having electrical problems we told her same reason we were out to eat because we also had electricians at our house working. I watched as many other customers came in and she handled everyone with a smile and positive help. It would be great to see more of Holly's and her team working in restaurants. As a restaurant owner you just don't see much of this customer seevice! Ok now for the food omg it was amazing. Everything was fresh and well flavored. I could not even finish my food. Restaurant was clean and had lots of seating. There was another employee working on tables why we ate an if I had not seen him would have never known he was there. Very respectful to the surroundings of guess. Oh an this team helped each other. When ever one was called they did not bat an eye to stop and step up. Good job smash burgers on finding such...
