Mackinac Bridge view point — Attraction in Mackinaw Township

The area was currently under construction and I had to use the area in front of the old lighthouse to access the beach. First time here, stopped by in May. Was cool, had a nice breeze and the view of the Mackinac Bridge and the old lighthouse were pretty nice, however, be prepared for the complete bombardment of bugs absolutely everywhere. I had to shake my pockets out of my hoodie before entering my car afterwards and unfortunately made the mistake of trying to brush them off of the front, to which these pests instantly exploded and stained my hoodie. Super easy entrance and departure parking area to get down to the water under the bridge before crossing over it. Great place to watch the sunset on the water. Very rocky beach. Don’t expect to walk around barefoot comfortably. Gets a lot of visitors. Lots of birds bed down on the grasses in the park area. Oh and large parking lot was helpful with our large trailer in tow. Getting off the exit right before crossing the bridge and getting right back on just as easily makes it a no brained stop for any future...
