Wisconsin Cheese Mart — Local services in Madison

The cheese was organized very nicely and all the labels were really helpful. However, the customer service was not good at all. I came into the store and asked the employee, Ian, for some help and on what Wisconsin cheese to get since I’m coming from out of state and wanted to purchase cheese. He was not helpful at all and even dismissive to me, as he just went back to being on his laptop even though I was the only customer in there. Shorty after, another customer came in and she asked a similar question to mine and he immediately got up to help her and clearly explained how the cheeses were laid out and gave details and some of them. I understand I did not look very polished as I came into the store after a workout, but that shouldn’t be basis for discrimination. I wish I could say it was a good overall experience, but the employee truly was rude and makes me not want to come back. If a customer is evidently confused, intimidated and asking questions you should at least try to help...

For years I have window-shopped on the Wisconsin Cheese Mart's website. Longingly staring at their selection of cheese, but too nervous to buy anything.

Then I moved to Madison and learned the Wisconsin Cheese Mart has brick and mortar location on State Street. I couldn't resist. I had to make the pilgrimage.

The free samples are all delicious, and even though the storefront is small they have a wide selection of cheeses. I pick up a different flavor of cheese curds every time I stop by and I've never been disappointed.

I don’t understand how they can state world’s largest selection of Wisconsin cheese. Does that mean it’s the worlds largest selection on their website because they certainly don’t sell that much in that store. They don’t even have close to what they show on their website as I was looking for a particular variety that was listed online. Was very disappointed in the false advertising.
